Aftermarket (Cheap) 12V / USB for dash?
Anyone know of or a way to rig up a 12V cig. adapter and usb charging ports through the rx3 dash plugs? I'm aware of the $100 option through CSC...that just seems so steep. Anything out there that's not difficult to connect?

I purchased a cell mount and 5 volt usb combo on ebay and it works so well I bought a second for my street bike.
Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/121863127170

This is what I ordered for mine: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Handlebar mount with cig adapter and 2 USB 2.1a outlets. It's cable has a fuse on it so I'm going to connect it directly to the battery. It has an on/off switch built in so I can continue charging a device when the bike is off or turn off the power to save the battery. Seemed reasonable for $20

The cigarette lighter plugs have one major fault, they do not grab the plug tightly. As a result the plug will tend to vibrate loose. You can convert over to the Powerlet style which will be much more secure.
http://www.powerlet.com/products I have the CSC dash outlets and made an adapter to mount a powerlet socket in the cigarette outlet hole. For low draw electrical gear this works just fine. If you are powering heated gear the OEM wiring probably won't carry enough amps so a dedicated circuit going to the battery is a better way to go. a fuze block helps insure adequate amps for extra stuff. |

I remember your excellent post regarding the powerlet adapter. Will you please refresh our memories, and provide a link to the post?
