dismissed
Yangxing tires include dual sport, knobby, and road tires. Yangxing tires are comparable to less expensive tires like Kenda, IRC, etc. But US citizens dismiss the brand, because it is Chinese. It isn't a political thing. It is still this ridiculous 50s hangover about cheap low quality manufacturing. Yup. I just got dismissed (on a Craiglist post).
The truth is that Chinese engineering and manufacturing is excelling in all areas. Yes, we all know about the cloning and patent violations, but it is hard to argue with quality, and success. And the engineering is building on expired patents. Unfortunately, we have little in the way of manufacturing sector. All I can say is that these dismissals just keep the lid on the price of our burgeoning list of bikes, and equipment. So I won't complain

"Made in China" The dragon pretty much makes everything we use now, to the point we can't live the way we do without the dragon's open hand... The dragon is also getting hungry now... At some point the dragon will close its hand and take back what it wants... |

I just got in a couple of Shinko 244 dualsport tires for one of my CT90s. Shinko is a Japanese company, but the tires are made in Korea. I was sure they weren't made in Japan, for the $44 I paid for each. Tire technology is really not all that complicated, and no doubt any country that makes tires can make good ones.

Same attitude, different generation. My grandfather and great uncles constantly bitched about everything being made in Japan, out of "Japanese Junk". I remember statements like "They're an island! They have to import everything including our used tin cans so they can make their cars!"
Now look. Japan, especially in the auto industry, is known for the highest quality products that outlast every other vehicle on the planet.

there was some truth in the complaints about Japans goods for awhile same for goods made in china, I still am leery about fasteners and such from china and buy american made when I can. That being said there is no doubt that china can make a tough engine.
