Asia Wing 450 in town
Hi there;
Have been riding around RX3 across Pakistan, but had tough time getting it on offroad Weekend Hang outs. I started to miss as I would join em and just sit back and take tea while buddies would do flybys on there DRs and XRs... I previously had experience with DR and CRF250 this time I started research stumbled upan Asia Wing via tracing roots of Christini AWD 450. AND next day I just booked one for my self... So Long story short, the bike landed and I have no fricken clue of how to assemble it or break in procedure e.t.c... So I have been reading a lot online in last couple of days, also found some excellent User and Workshop manuals... Seems like bikes engine is power ful but VERY delicate has two sperate Oil chamber (engnie/transmission) And almost all over the manual its writen again and again that low oil, or unchangd oil will make the tranmission fail... I wonder if its too deilcate to put in enduro in first place.. that they have to mention this again and again or may be this is too much track oriented stuff ?... Also, it mentions to change oil rapidly... did not get it what it really mean to change it after 2.5hours, track stuff again ?? ? Lastly I am totally clue less where to put the rear tail light and number plate or how to fit it... manual do not explain the fitting or first time out of the box assembly nor there is any online ref. I just used it for 2 hours today (on road) and the bike is smoking hot power ful... seat is a brick though!! Its a blast of actual 43HP..... on has to sit tight on a straight seat and hold it tight!! LOVED IT.... I am not sure if on Chinariders there are much LD450 users ?

Nice 450! I am looking for one in the USA. I can't find a dealer.
Glad you like it! |

I'm pretty sure that we don't get that model in the US. That being said, it sounds like the service intervals are for racing intervals, but it'd be best to stick with those intervals until you have an idea of how the oil comes out. Those intervals are for amount of time the engine is running, basically.
The language about the transmission sounds like legalese cya language, but it is possible that the transmission is especially sensitive. Either way, get rid of the cheap oil that came in it ASAP, as the chinese oil that tends to come with chinabikes is merely a rust preventative, with very limited lubricating qualities. Additionally, the first couple of oil changes are at reduced intervals in order to get out the debris from the engine and transmission getting run in. (This is assuming that it is actually an Asiawing product, not a Christini. If it is an actual Christini, I'd think that it comes with good oil) Many MX bikes have separate transmission and engine oils, it's not necessarily an indication of fragility. |

Here's a link to manufacturer for those interested:
http://www.asiawing.com/products_list2.html Unfortunately, there don't seem to be any low-end Chinese 450cc class enduros in the USA market, at least as far as I've seen. I imagine the lack of dealer support along with the EPA requirements make it too difficult to support or get highway certification with a cheap enough engine to make for a compelling price point. Still, considering the entry points for a KTM or Husqvarna, I'm a little surprised somebody isn't trying. |

Thats because it is a straight up clone of the early 2000's crf450. Even the genuine fork internals will swap over.

The engine is sort of a knockoff of the early crf450 engine. Lower compression and slightly better service intervals.than the crf engine. The crf450 engine also uses the same split oil concept, and they even copied the "twin air" intake setup.

So for now I should rely on check and keep an eye MODE to find out sweet spot of oil changing cycle...
By the way Bike is tall and I am a small guy,... Any suggestions how can I lower it ? what should I do about this.... The only time I would need to place foot on ground is if the bike looses traction (loose stones on mountains are my enemy) or when I come to stop... Dont want to crash land every ride end...

Sweet looking bike. May I suggest bringing the 70's back and get some platform shoes. Yeah, you might want t lower it a little. ChondaChondaChonda has a thread on here somewhere on how he lowered the rear with a spacer in the shock.

And why has no one said as yet.... the first thing you should do is set the sags & the bike will sit 1/3 of it;s suspension travel lower with your weight on it... if it has 300mm of travel it should sit 100mm lower under your weight... once you have done that then start looking at lowering links and the like if it is still to tall.. ..
