What To Do On A Rainy Weekend
I had planned to do another IBA Saddle Sore 1000 ride this weekend, but with the trashy weather coming off the gulf coast, I decided to cancel. Instead, I did a little tinkering on the Goldwing and also get my little 125 pit bike running.
The GW was the easy part. I did some re-directing of wires for my power socket for my phone and GPS. I also dug under the seat and re-wired my cruise control so it would go over 77 MPH. I can now set it at 80 or 85, which will be great for my cross-country trip through the SW states. I pulled the tank and carb off the 125. took things apart and cleaned out the carb. got it all put back together and it started up on the third kick after filling the tank. ripped up and down the road a few times just to warm it up and tinker with the pilot. I think I'm going to sell it and see if I can find another 250 to buy. |

Rainy weekend??? what you complaining about? for over two months we literally had rain just about everyday. loo Saturday was the first time in months i was able to go out and ride without worrying about dodging rain clouds. We finally got a whole week of nice cool weather forecast. I know what I'll be doing. I'm making of for lost time. The truck will be parked and I'll be rotating between bikes driving to work and just riding. IBA Saddle Sore ride.

I wish the weather geeks had a better handle on the real forecast rather than their "the sky is falling" approach. It turned out that Saturday probably would have been ok, and certainly yesterday was a good day for it. Weather geeks.

lol Tell me about it. I missed out on a couple of days last week i could of road my bike because of inaccurate weather man. The sky did fall out once i got home. With my luck if i took the bike i would of gotten soaked.

Yesterday, the geeks were right. Up Nort here, it was a good day for sweat pants, slippers, and bad monster movies. Chicago Bears played in a flooded Soldiers Field, Milwaukee Ironman Triathlon was run in a downpour and 55F temps. Apparently it was nice in the Twin Cities but the Packers embarrassed themselves to the entire NFC.
Crappy day today, too. Buster even cut his walk short this morning.

What is this "rain" you speak of?

Here where I am, we have had an almost ideal August and September. Highs in the 80s, little rain.
Aaaaaaannnddd my right wrist and thumb have been screwed up for two weeks with no end in sight. Can't ride without pain there. Not even sure how it happened. Some sort of blunt force trauma. I apologize for wasting the great weather.

I usually remember halfway through that first cup of coffee and then call myself a dumbass. Currently nursing a bruised left ring finger that did too good a job stopping a driven out bearing from dropping to the floor. Caught the bearing, punch, and the hammer behind the two.
