Difference Between Apollo 250cc Dirt Bikes?
Hi, having a hard time getting my head around these specifications. Is the Apollo DB-G011 different than the RX250 and DB36?
http://www.powersportsmax.com/produc...ducts_id/20549 It states this has adjustable quickly adjustable rear suspension and this seems to be what everyone has been asking for. It also looks to be 21lbs lighter and 2 more horsepower. Here is what I'm comparing it to: https://www.motomaxus.com/250cc-adult-dirt-bike-en.html Just wondering if this is more people over stating something and looking for the biggest bang for the buck... Thanks, Rich |

This is still a great bike. Change the carb and it is an awesome bike.

^That.
Bike in the first link has a CB250 - the OHC engine. Second bike has the CG250, the OHV motor found in many of the Enduros like the Hawk, Bashans, etc. The OHC motor makes a little more hp. The OHV motor will have a bit more torque in the lower half of the revs. Likely there is no differences beyond that. Just marketing people hyping up the bike to make you want to buy it. I wouldn't even believe the weights they list. Most weights listed by these sellers tends to be optimistic (aka inaccurate).

Apollo will slap in whatever engine a local importer desires, obviously after emissions certifications are completed. If these really do have different engines, it was probably more to do with what was available at the time, and the US importer fudged them through. Otherwise, it could just be the stock photos (a lot of online retailers do not take their own photos since they drop ship and don't physically carry many of the bikes on their site) from Apollo show both available air-cooled engines. I would venture to say the bike is the same, since as I mentioned, most retailers drop-ship.

I just noticed--Powersportsmax is not free shipping at their price, while motomaxus is free shipping. There IS a difference, lol

The stated HP between the two is different as well, and in line with the two different engine types. The OHC equipped bike is rated at a bit over 17hp, which is typical of that engine, and the OHV equipped bike at 15.6hp, which seems to be the gold standard for EPA compliant non-balanced CG250's

Probably a processing/paperwork fee of some kind. You wouldn't pay a Tariff as an aditional fee, the bike itself would just be more expensive.

Sounds like shady business practices to me. A tariff on imported goods means that the importer pays a higher price, and then that just gets passed along to the consumer with a higher MSRP. Tacking an extra "fee" on to something that has already been imported and passed customs - meaning it has already been taxed - is a B.S. way to squeeze more money out of people.

Order one from the 2nd link of the OP, you don’t have to finish the transaction.
Got it wrong, it’s 15%... |
