None of them are made in China.

Two bikes I named before I opened the article that I just knew were going to make this list were the B-King and CTX1300. The former because, although it was actually a decent bike, it was a huge let down. The latter because it was just a huge let down and sales flop (due to what Honda did to make it a let down).

Oh that list was done by this guy???
26-264938_monocle-guy.jpg Really a Yamaha R1?? REALLY LOL.... So it's the worst of the "modern era" because it is not confortable to you... Sure buddy... Hyosung GT650R: I don't know in the US, but that GT650R was cheaper and i mean a lot cheaper than any similar Japanese motorcycle. He used the Suzuki SV650, that Suzuki is AT LEAST 2000 usd more expensive not only here but i could say in the whole world... That list way biased. |

He is looking at it two ways. Either individual bikes that were just disappointments in delivery (CTX1300 and B-King) or, for their segment, just not the best (GT650R and R1). He is also speaking from a purely on-road perspective, which he even states is his reasoning behind the R1. It's THE track bike, but most people don't take them to the track. As a road bike, it sucks when compared to the rest of its class. The GT650R isn't a bad bike, but when it was sold here in the U.S. it only cost maybe another $1000 at most to buy a new SV650, and realistically, the SV650 is a better bike. That doesn't mean the GT650 is bad really, just not as good and for not much less, which I think was his point. It wasn't bad, but nothing stood out about it either.

If the GT650R was just 1000 or less than the SV650, then it was overpriced. In other markets there was a big gap between the GT650R and the SV650. About the R1 is among the best supersport motorcycles, among the Top 5 no doubts. So i can get that he may dislike the GT650R since it was overpriced, but the R1 is there just for trolling purpose To be honest when i saw the the title i was expecting real turds from the "modern era" with real design flaws. Every major manufacturers had a turd from 1988-current ("Modern Era" for the author). |

While not modern era here's my list:
#Honda NX 125.. this turd didn't have enough power to haul around a skinny 14yr old boy on even moderate hills. #Kawasaki Bayou 220 quad.. yeah they sold a bunch of them because of the entry level price, but it was plagued with electrical problems and performed poorly in the woods. #Polaris Trail Boss 330 quad.. a full size quad with great handling and suspension, but very underpowered, on a hill it would just run out of steam very quickly. #Kawasaki Ninja 250.. some folks loved them but to me they were a toy that tried to look fast. I put atleast a hundred of them together and always dreaded the disappointing test ride after. #Any AMF era Harley Davidson.. the quality control dropped so low it nearly put Harley out of business. #Honda CMX 250 Rebel.. face it, it was a girl's bike. #Any Honda CM 350-400.. never cared for any inline twin, too much reciprocating weight and lackluster performance. #Mid 90s Kawasaki KE 100.. basically they took technology from the late 70s-early 80s to build a crap bike. I was embarrassed to see them on the showroom floor. #'87 RM 125.. great suspension, however it had an unmanageable all or nothing powerband and was prone to frequent piston seizures. #Yamaha Blaster 200 quad.. these things have a huge following, but I have no idea why. An air-cooled 2 stroke with an almost non-existent powerband, no speed,no hill climbing power and poor handling. About all they were good for was doing low speed 1st gear wheelies in the front yard.

Nobody ever said it wasn't one of the best 1000cc supersports. Even the author stated it was one of the best track bikes ever made. His gripe was ergonomics, and only ergonomics. I agree with him, although to ne fair I also agree it is a weird gripe to have since most people don't tend to buy supersports for long distance bikes... The CBR1000RR is immensely more comfortable than fhe R1 though, for whatever that's worth.

I had an early 1970s version of the KE 100 called the G5. It was completely reliable.

I can't say anything about any of these bikes except for one. A friend of my daughters came by the house a while back and had a HD Street 750. He let me take a ride on it. That ride was very short. That had to be the most uncomfortable bike i have ever ridden. Unless you are 5' tall then it might be okay. My knees felt like they were in my chest. Had the most awkward riding position and felt like riding a hard tail. Shocks felt like they were welded in place. lol. I only made one block and my back was hurting. This kid just road it from Atlanta, Georgia to south Louisiana. He is a Marine so i guess that's how they toughen him up.

The worst bike ever made is usually the one I get after someone else does something stupid to it... or it sat for 10 years with gas in the carbs. Stuff like that. Never had a ‘bad’ bike really. My XR650L was maybe too heavy. My 4 carb suzuki 550 had too many carbs (lol). My DR350 was too tall... my Chinese Roketa... well, After I threw some parts at it, was pretty good. Heavy and slow, but ok. I think there’s a style and model for everyone and for the most part, can’t really go wrong. Just keep looking for ‘your bike’. I’ve had 38 bikes so far, and, my favorite was my 2009 KLX250SF. But, traded it for a car which I’m not regretting... yet...
