To Zx250r : I'm in Panama City Beach ,so I'm 3 hours or so from Jax .I am planning to make the Grom Day "next" time tho, so i 'll be there in 2019 ,unless there is another big Grom Event in JAX before then . As far as rearsets I'm looking at these :
https://www.ebay.com/itm/For-Honda-G...19.m1438.l2649 Hey Chinabike ! My Vader won't ship to me til July 15th, that list is all the parts I ordered while I wait for it to get here so I got this huge pile of parts here ,but nothing to put them on yet lmao! I will be posting pix of it when it gets here tho, and after I get all this stuff on it. But, my riding buddy who has a Vader runs those handlebars and they look fine , they are only like 23 dollars and the Pro Taper Mids were like 65 even on Ebay so I figured if i run 23 dollar bars with the same basic dimensions as the 65 dollar Pro Tapers ,that leaves me 40 bucks i can use to order stuff i need., those bars are knurled both where they fit in the clamp as well as on both ends where your grips go ,so your grips won't slide off ,which is amazing for a set of 23 dollar bars ,they already came in and I think they will be fine. Besides that they come in a range of Anodized colors and the Pro Tapers only come in black ,and well to be honest I am an attention hound and I wanted the Blue to match all the other Blue Anodized aluminum bits I ordered so it looks flashy haha!! We have a good bit of Grom and Grom clones here in PCB and how I'm building mine and the parts I'm using are from looking at and talking to the Owners of a lot of em and combining what looked best to me for the look I want and preparing it to learn to stunt on, I can wheelie my 2004 Sportster but a Vader will be so much easier and a lot less expensive or dangerous when ya drop it ! |

Yeah man i am going to swap the swingarm and rear shock out and put the EBC Big Rotor kit on the front , but thats on my "Phase Two" list, so I'm looking at either January/February or later ,I paid for the Vader and ordered a LOT of parts already so I got to save up some coins for round two , so the short answer is yes, but not right away cause now I'm broke lol! What I'm trying to do is build something with a "roadrace" look, that's still stunt capable if that makes any sense ., so it's going to be a mix of those two looks. I just settled on the graphics I want to put on it but it's a secret for now , I'll save that for when i do my "reveal" after my Phase One is completed ,I'll put them on last for that ! |

Welcome to Chinariders.net Lucas! Actually my list has grown and I need to update it at some point today and add the description and links for the addtl. parts ,so check back for that !
My Vader 125 has been trapped in "shipping limbo" for a while now ,I have this huge pile of parts ready to put on it and no bike yet ! But, I will be photographing as well as Video'ing the build and posting those just as soon as it gets here so you will be able to see how it looks both stock as well as during the build up as well as the "finished product" ,altho I'm not sure we are ever really "finished" once we start modding a bike, there's always that " one more thing" you want to add or change lol! Anyways I am glad that "The List" is helping people, I figure if it helps even one person find a part they have been looking for or gives them an idea for their bike even if they don't use the specific stuff i chose then it has served it's purpose and was worthwhile! Be sure and post us some info and pix of your Bike and build too, I never get tired of seeing what other people do with their machines be it small details or major rebuilds! Once again welcome aboard ,chinariders.net has a great community and has been a great help to me as well as many others, I think you will like it here!

Zx250r , I pretty much plan on taking out the ones the Vader arrives with and going to
Tractor Supply and Lowes in town and buying the strongest grade equivalents they have in 5/16" ,and adding lock washers and hopefully nylok nuts ,if I can't find Nylok nuts to use on top of the lock washers I'll buy two nuts and tighten one down on top of the other, on top of the lock washer. I've read way too many stories here about them coming loose and/or breaking to not address that issue right off the bat ,I'll be sure and make a note of the specific stock numbers I use so I can post them . ,and whether they came from Tractor Supply or Lowes ( Thats about it on hardware stores in my small town heh ) Peace !

Yea I think OEM Grom hardware will fit ,I actually think the Chinese bolts might well be strong enough, the actual issue is the nuts come loose and the rocking causes enough stress for the bolt to then shear ,if they didn't ever come loose then they would last.
But that said, we aren't talking a lot of money for a couple of known good quality 5/6" bolts ,nuts, and washers so it's worth it to just swap the entire mess out and be done with it ,I'm no fan of "Chinesium" hardware , they strip out, wring off ,and corrode way to fast, easy and often .I am planning on basically replacing every accessible nut , bolt, and washer I can get to no matter where it is ,I ordered a stainless steel engine bolt kit for a Grom , picked up two metric nut / bolt/washer assortment kits at Lowes and also ordered a blue anodized aluminum nut /bolt/washer complete fairing kit for a Grom and a 100 pc count bag of rubber washers that will hopefully keep the Vader plastics from vibration and stress cracking .That, and a big honkin bottle of blue loc tite .
