Letter from the BMV
I got this letter on Saturday. The way it reads is that the VIN is incorrect
and they will fix it for free. I sure hope so.

I think that it is one of those police stings; you must have a felony warrant that you never took care of, and you will show up to get your "title" straightened out, and 5 or 10 cops are going to jump out and wrestle you to the ground.

Don't go! That's the way they got me! Stupid sting. This is why I'm posting from Chino State prison.

Doesn't look legit to me.... I would not go.... Find a phone number directly at the DMV and call...

does the vin on your title match what's stamped on the bike? if not then they are correct... but if it matches I'd just call the number on the top of that letter and tell them it matches the bike.

Easy,
It is a tad bit odd that your BMV is still using a manual typewriter to fill out documentation of any sort and cant even get it lined up in this day and age??? If it is real, I'm sure it's a genric document that they revised for your specific title.. Anyway, call them and ask to talk to whoever signed the letter and get to the bottom of it, could be nothing...

Yeah, I plan on calling them tomorrow and finding out what is going on.
I didn't think it looked real either blimpman. I know I don't have any outstanding warrants as I'm about as clean as they come. Only had a DUI back in 88 when I was a young punk. Plus the letter does state that I could send it in if it is more convenient. No I won't send the title in, but I will get it straightened out. The plate on the steering head is so poorly stamped that I may have read it wrong when I sent the seller the VIN. I have to go out and double check it. I'm sure all will be fine. If not I won't complain with a free bed and three meals a day. That's more than I get at the moment. Plus I wouldn't have to fight with my kids on a daily basis.

chance to try real Italian food as I lived there for three years. It's not as good as American Italian food IMO. As for the cigs I'll keep that in mind if I do end up in jail.

do yourself a favor, drop whatever you are doing and buy the movie.. you won't regret it. Fantastic acting and story... ps. do not send your title to whereever that address is, call them and verify it, at your BMV or whatever..

Nope never seen it. If it doesn't come to regular (only rabbit ears here) tv I won't see it.
All my funds go into my kids. I'm lucky to have net access. Yeah I haven't taken care of the title yet. Suppose to get some money tomarrow and will take a trip to the BMV. Still don't think it is a big deal.

I finally got around to going to the title office yesterday. Better late than
never. Lady took my old title corrected two digits in the VIN and gave me a new one. Free of charge. Too simple.
