Hensim Hunter GY-6 150cc killswitch question

Howdy all,
There is a kill switch on the left that comes thorugh the plastic body of the bike over the wheel. It has a part with a lanyard on it that goes on the wrist and will pop off and kill then engine in the event of a wreck. Several times the cable going into it has popped off on the backside (pulled off by a branch) and now it comes out easily. I have it electric taped up currently, but I wonder if there is an aftermarket replacement that would work better. Any help appreciated.
Dr.Phil

I have a hensim 150cc quad. My tether kill switch broke shortly after I got the quad. I bought a new chinese generic kill switch on eBay for cheap. It was an exact replacement. Its been working now for two years.

But do you really need the tether kill switch? I've never tied mine off to anything other than the handlebars, which of course does no good at all. If mine were to ever fail again I'd just remove it.
