New Air filter = carb rejet
Finally got around to installing the filter I bought a few years back - Now I need to know the recommended carb jet sizes. I live at sea level in semi tropical central Florida if that makes any difference. At the same time I am going to try ditching the battery - leave the wiring minus the battery. Any ideas are welcome.

Please remind us of the engine size.
Also, no battery can work. That's how Son of Weldangrind's 83 XR200R is set up right now. It starts every time he kicks it, so we haven't installed a battery yet, but it's on the list.

im running same stuff and bored mine 1.1mm, most pull at 5000 i think with current but revs to 8000 or less..any thing above 1.1 is bad.
pin set to middle else it will go rich. Living by the sea in north sweden and its 25c or so out. Would like to try 1.05 |

With 230cc at sea level (and a Mikuni, identified by four float bowl screws), foam pod filter and free-flowing muffler, I'd use a 115 main and a 27 to 30 slow jet.

Thanks for the info on the carb jets - 2 questions, should those jets be available at a local bike shop? and the bulge in the exhaust pipe is a cat converter? Have tig welder will fix if so.

Mikuni jets can be found at the local Yamaha dealer, but Honda will be hit or miss if it has a Keihin clone.
If the bulge is in the header pipe, it is most likely a cat. Do you have an air injector as well? It will most likely be a tube and flange on the right side of the head.

Yes on the air injector - I removed that right away.

You'll definitely need fatter jets once the cat is removed. You'll notice the increase in power.
