I bought this from a dealer locally for $849 plus tax. It took about 2 hours to assemble.

First I installed the handle bar, rear shocks, and front fender and wheel.

Nice looking scoot at a fair price.
Rotella is not required for a GY6. I use synthetic 10W30 in those engines, to give them every advantage. It is also wise to change the gear oil in the rear.

Owner reviews are always interesting . .
.
Performance modifications and wide-open-throttle abuse appear to significantly contribute to the early demise of so many GY6 125/150 engines . . 60MPH+ expectations from a 50MPH engine. Avoiding high RPM's and cylinder head temperature, along with frequent oil changes and periodic valve clearance adjustments, seems to prolong longevity. |

I picked up the scooter today on the way to work and noticed the headlights weren't working. I thought they were working when I put it together so may have more electrical issues. I put the scooter together pretty fast due to limited time so didn't have time to change fluids and locktite everything so that I would be together before Christmas. I will go through it sometime this week properly and get everything working right hopefully. I started right up when I loaded it in the truck today but definitely need to get rid of the fish oil in engine and rear gears.

Thanks for the reminder on the gear oil I forgot to mention needing to change that. Thanks for the info on the oil. I have been using Rotella in the GY6 quad not knowing it was the wrong oil.

I'm not saying that Rotella is wrong. I'm saying that you're free to use more slippery oil with friction modifiers, to free up every bit of power. Any synthetic 10W30 from Walmart will do the trick. You could probably run 5W30 in colder weather if you like.

I got up early this morning to troubleshoot the horn and headlight. when I took the fairing of I found the horn on its bracket laying in the plastics inside the bottom of the scooter. In installed it an now the horn works but still no headlights. There in no wiring diagram in the owner's manual not even the generic one size fits all diagram that comes with other china bikes. I'm not if and where the headlight relay is, I checked all the wiring connections in the front. It looks like a royal pain to get the plastic off in the back because it appears for the most part to be on big piece.

To be clear, I'm only offering another option. You should use the oil that you wish to use.
All of my bikes and quads drink Rotella 15W40, with the exception of my GY6 quad; it drinks 10W30 syn. My thinking is that since there is no clutch in a GY6, no firction modifiers are needed. Just thinking out loud here: have you tested the headlight with a battery?
