2024 Blue Templar X crate

Happy guy looking at his new Templar X in the crate yesterday afternoon just before the hail and tornados came through! Phew
We had the R&L driver set the crate in the trailer for easy moving to the garage. No tears in the cardboard or wrap. Totally unscathed



Got the front wheel, handlebars and rear linkage and taillight assembly together.



Crate claims 272.3 lbs People are getting about 290 pounds for fairly unmodified Templar X, which is 18 pounds. Gasoline is 6 pounds per gallon, the weight of about 3 gallons brings it up to 290. Makes sense.



This Templar cost $150 more than my 2022 5 speed. There are a few details that makes this look like a better build, better packing, and a little more quality in the fit/finish. And the triple clamp/forks were assembled this time. The only thing I had to "fix" so far was to tap the left front bearing seal in. It wasn't quite seated. I'm glad my son decided to go ahead and get the X. It is definitely worth $2000

Is the manufacture date 2024 or are these still from the 2023 production run? My front rim had a bit of damage as it was rubbing against the kickstand during shipment. Hope this last batch is packed a little better.

I can't find a manuacture date on the VIN tag or MCO, bhese have been out of stock for more than two months until Saturday morning, May 11th. I think it is probably built Winter 2024, maybe Feb or march?

I looked closely at the front wheel and see no abrasions/mars on the black rim or anywhere else. They had things zip tied pretty snug with those mega sized zip strips. The metal frame was also not bent or stressed. The last two I've gotten had crush/bend under the engine, presumably from on end tip over drops, or dead drops.

the last 3 of my VIN are 523. I suspect maybe MO/YR of mfg May 2023?

Random question, what does the clutch adjuster look like up on the handlebars? Noticed a difference between my '23 X and my buddy's '24 X when we were assembling it.

YUP! Good eye.

I noticed this while working on it yesterday but didn't dig in. It is a large plastic knob fit onto a large and long hex adjuster with a slot for cable removal.

Looks like a nice upgrade for easy gloved hand operation on the trail.

My money is on it being a '24 then. Should say on the MCO as well

Yes. 2024 is the year on the MCO. I am used to finding the mfd date on the VIN plate, as month/yr
I looked around the engine for one as well. Nope.

The excitement of seeing that box, even when it isn't mine is akin to Christmas morning as a 10yr old. I will never outgrow that it seems. Please keep the pics coming, the blue looks great!

It came with a magnetic oil drain plug. Had to clean grit from it.
ALSO, the oil looked GOOD. I should have run it for a few miles confidently.

Went back in before photo, but NICE to see!!!

Noticed the magnetic plug in my buddy's '24 X as well. Haven't checked if my '23 X has a magnetic one or not. I've done two oil changes on it so far and always just used the oil screen side drain

As part of my job I've run through a LOT of VIN's. I've never seen one that had an indicator of the month of production. Would be nice if they did have that though.

I will say that Im kinda disappointed in the blue color I'm seeing. Their photos showed that neon/baby blue color and that's what I thought I was getting. But oh well. Ill live lol. It arrives toorrow.

Isn’t the last four or five digits in the vin number your unique number for your model year? My Storm 150 DLX last three numbers are 060 meaning to me number 60 for that year or production cycle and it’s is a 24’ because it’s on the mco. Thinking out loud….
