Lifan Lycan Oil Change
Hello, this is my second post on the forum.
I’ve been lurking around for a week now, and I’m happy to get involved with everyone. I’m an owner of a Lifan Lycan 250, and I’m about to process her first oil change. I’m hoping for some more clarity on the type of oil to use; the manual states 15w-40 sj. Do I need to use conventional oil or synthetic? I haven’t found a synthetic option yet. Advance only carries Diesel conventional oil 15w-40; can I use that on a gasoline motorcycle? I found a compatible oil filter for an xvs 250 as I have read on here is the referenced motorcycle to the Lycan. It’s a K&N filter KN-145, located https://www.knfilters.com/kn-145-oil-filter I’m mostly looking for guidance on how to acquire a suitable oil for the Lycan any recommendations? Thanks |

I would suggest you contact American Lifan directly and ask them. The dual sports have used Rotella 15-40 with great success for many years, but the Lycan might be a bit more finicky. However, it is a similar engine to the Yamaha, so whatever the Yamaha used should be compatible.
