Smile Anyone else got a Lifan Xpect?

Just got a Lifan Xpect! Loving it!! But I’m looking for a skid plate that fits the frame, any suggestions? Also brake and clutch lever replacement options? I’ve swapped out the shift lever for a tusk foldable one. Newbie here but excited to join the club of dual sport riding!

Thumbs Up X-pect more

Hey, welcome aboard! I have an X-pect and since I am an old dude stay on the street or dirt roads. The mods I have done are: changed turn signals for smaller ones that also provide running lights in the front and additional brake lights in the back. I have added a cross bar to the stock handlebars, and a LED headlight bulb. Other than that just valve adjustments and oil changes. I see that the bottom of the frame is threaded for a skid plate, so I may make one from a plastic cutting board.

I think the X-pect is the best value out there for dual sport bikes.

Good luck.

Got my X-Pect in the fall, it took a little while to get the bike registered due to this Covid rubbish and also took some time for me to get the M2 licence sorted. So my mileage is only in the low hundreds as it has got too cold to ride at this time. However I am very happy with this bike and look forward to Spring. Mods so far are 17 tooth front sprocket and a windshield from Ali express. Still have to check valve adjustments but will wait until it gets warmer.

I only have about 120 miles on the clock so am still breaking it in and have not opened it up yet, I replaced the sprocket to keep the revs lower but have not taken it out on the road since I replaced it. As soon as it warms up enough I will try to get the mileage up and do a speed trial.

Yes, he has been playing around with his and has numerous videos as he piles on the miles. It appears he is snowbirding (although seems young to be retired) in Florida in a trailer park which is out in the dirt, so has plenty of opportunity to use his Lifan like it was meant to be used.

Actually, it gets here tomorrow now! Gotta get new feeler gages and rotella oil. Excited to get riding! Still can’t ride the roads yet though since I have to wait for plates.

Anyone know what weight Rotella to use and what set of feeler gages I should pick up so I don’t need to make 2 trips?

Welcome. Love mine. I've had it to 67ish with the 17t front sprocket. Not a rocket and don't care. It rides great and a joy to ride and starts easily (even when cold). And it only has about 300 miles on it.
