To shut off. It's the same system that was used with points ignitions decades ago; ground out the ignition, and the engine dies.

Ok my idea is that since the igition switch doesn't work and the electric stat doesn't work could i replace the wires in my start button by running the black/white wire and a ground wire and instant kill switch correct???

So I understand, you want to use the start button as the kill switch?

pretty much i have an isuue in my regular ignition switch I can unplug the black/white wire from the cdi box and it fires right up and runs but can't shut it off so i figured if I run the bl/w wire to the start button and a ground out then its now a kill switch.

Sounds like a good plan, assuming you don't want to fix the electric start.

You could buy a dedicated kill switch for cheap on eBay, like what you'd find on a dirt bike.

I've used these kill switches before, and you can pay for them with change from the couch cushions: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Motorcycle-A...50163c&vxp=mtr
