TaoTao 125A problems
Last year my granddaughter got her first quad. It started easily and ran fine. I did notice that it would always click once or twice before the started engaged. After a few starts this year the starter won't engage. It only clicks. It appears to have a full charge but hooked up the trickle charge just the same. Same problem.
I located the solenoid on the left side under the seat and tried to bypass the 2 terminals. Nothing. I then jumpered from the hot post on the battery to the lower terminal on the solenoid going to the starter. Nothing. Tried from the hot terminal on the battery to the started. Nothing. When the brake is engaged I do get a good bright light that dims when I try the starter button. Have not been able to amp the battery to see if it is fully charged. Any help would be appreciated. |

battery
I would say your battery is no good... it may have 12 volts.. but no amps... not enough to turn the motor over.... if you had another battery there you could use it... or take yours to the local battery store and they will test it.. should be a bout $30-40 dollars for one.. you could pay more but check around.. this is why the light goes dim when you try it...

Welcome Luvdawoods!
I would agree that the battery is the primary culprit.

Thank you for the welcome.
After thinking about it I tended to agree that the battery might be the culprit. Took it to the local garage and after an hour they told me it wasn't holding a charge. Will order a new one and see what happens. Thanks guys. |
