How can i run an oil temp sensor?
I really really do not want to tap the engine case to install the sensor if at all possible. But i cant install it where the oil drain plug is becaus i'm using that for the oil cooler. Is there a way to install the sensor inline with the oil cooler 'out" braided steel line?

I would not install any sensor near shift levers or around the skid pan.
I've contemplated installing one but if have installed an oil cooler already its running cooler than stock...and stock engines run reliably enough without a cooler... the best temp sensor Ive found is just palming the side of the radiator. If I had to install a temp sensor i'd probably drill and tap the rocker cover. not sure if the make temp sensing unit small enough where it could bypass the rocker cover oring and sit inside the rocker cover cavity... But long story short I stopped concerning myself with oil temp and just rode my bike till I overheated. |

My oil temperature sensor is mounted in the oil drain plug on the bottom of the engine. The sensor that came with my gauge replaced the oil drain plug.My skid plate protects it from any damage.

OP says he's running his oil cooler to the oil drain... somehow ... for return? Seems odd to me. |

From the picture, it look like he is using the oil screen plug adapter.

Or as XLsior sez, just ride the bike until you are overheated.
