Hello from Colombia
Looking at purchasing an AKT 250 TT Adventour bike here in Colombia. Most of you know this bike as the Zongshen RX3. I fell in love with the design as soon as I saw it. Small bikes are the norm here and this is one of the biggest, best priced small bikes I have seen here. Mainly looking for reviews and feedback on durability, problems, etc. Hope I can contribute too along the way. I am an American that has been living in Colombia the past 4 years and love the country and its people. Been riding a Yamaha FZ16 (160 cc) naked style street bike for the past 2 years here. The roads and other drivers are a daily adventure but I love motorcycles. All the Japanese brands are way over priced so looking to step up in size without killing my wallet. Had an R1, Hayabusa, XR650L and others in the past back in the states. If you have any questions about Colombia please feel free to ask. Im no expert but happy to share my honest opinion about this beautiful place that gets mostly bad press from the media.

Welcome; we are glad you joined us.
I own a Zongshen RX3, and I like it very much. I also own a Honda XR650L, so we have a bit in common.

Welcome, Mike!
I'd love to see your Yamaha; we don't get to see many cool, small bikes in NA.

Welcome Mike. You're about to be visited by Joe Berk of CSC, who's heading to Columbia to ride with Juan Carlos of AKT.

2010 Yamaha FZ16

This is a stolen from the internet pic of a bike similar to my 153cc 69mph bad boy. I think it cranks out a whopping 12hp. Never would I have imagined buying a bike smaller than 600cc when I was in the states but here where I am living they are really not practical and big bikes draw a lot of attention because there are only a handful in the area. (Im not saying thats good or bad but it always pays to be cautious). Its been a great bike. I have ridden it almost daily to work and for errands around town. Its comfortable and I have absolutely no complaints. I love the styling and the aggressive look. I am 6ยด-1 and about 200lbs and enjoy the ride around town. I also rode it on a 3 day trip to Bogota last year and had a great time. Spent 6 to 8 hours a day in the saddle with no complaints. They sell new here for about $2500 USD at todays exchange rate. |

That's a really sharp bike! I wish stuff like that would end up here.

Prices on the rise - AKT 250 TT Colombia
Stopped in at another dealer today and the price went up again. I swear it has gone up 3 times in the last month that I have been window shopping these. I made a comment on a facebook fan page for the bike and someone with the suppliers same name wrote back that the prices are rising because of the USD. I guess that may be legit even though the dollar has actually come down some in the last month. Also noticed that this dealer has a top mounted box installed on the bike. Its big, square and metal. It looks really durable but it doesnt seem very practical. I need space for a laptop backpack or a helmet and it doesnt seem to be the right size for either. Seems to me it should be more rectangular than square. I hate being cheap and I hate even more researching the hell out of something to the point that I talk my self out of making the leap. Still looking ........
