Rear axel bolt coming loose
I took the Hawk out for a short ride and noticed my wheel not straight. The bolts were pretty loose. Are yall using lock washers or loctite?

Are you talking about the adjusters? If so, I use a washer, lock washer, and then a second nut to tighten against the main one.
Set your alignment and chain tension. Tighten the axle, tighten each adjuster, then spin on an extra nut to each side and tighten it against the first nut.

There is only one axle bolt. It is the rear axle.
If you aren't sure you understand what I am asking about, post a picture with an arrow or circle around the item you are trying to describe.

Just to be 100% sure we are on the same page. This is the Axle Nut/Bolt. This is one of the adjusters. I had to use actual lock nuts on mine, they are about 30-40% thinner than a standard nut. I had to do the same with my stainless exaust studs due to length. I should have bought 5mm longer ones. Hindsight is like that lol.

That's about 68ft-lbs, nearly double what Dan uses.

35ft-lbs is the torque spec provided by CSC for the TT250 Axle bolt. Since the TT250 uses the same basic swing arm and axle design out back, I trust their figures.
It worked on my last bike, and is what I use on the new one. As an added bit of assurance, I always toss a little medium loctite on the bolt. I have toyed with the idea of drilling a small hole in said bolt for a cotter pin and replacing the original nut with an M14x1.5 castle nut.

get this arh! alabama years ago decided it was going to the metric system. they installed km post on the interstate system!! they didnt take down the mile markers so you can imagine the confusion the ambulance drivers were having so they removed the km markers!! makes a lot of sense doesnt it. either system is ok. the metric is simpler. trouble is when you mix the two.

Yup, 35 lbs. Much more and you start to crush the awesome box metal swingarm.

Wow I wonder were I got the 93nm from. No wonder I’ve gone through a couple rear axles and stripped nuts.
Heres the link I got info from http://www.chinariders.raptorrefuge....d.php?p=198036 |
