China bikes require a bit more love. You need to be able to enjoy tearing things apart and figuring them out as you put them back together.
This site is filled with the knowledge that is required to make any China bike a reliable and fun machine. It is up to you to decide if it is something that you want to try. It's not for everyone and that's OK. |

You have to think of these bikes as a kit! There are alot of things that need adjusting and fixing to make better or correct. Things like routing electrical routing, chains (replace then) tubes, etc. etc.

Exhaust valve out of adjustment or the Carb is jetted to lean. Which is a known fact with these bikes. The factory has to jet them lean to get them to pass EPA regulations. Its not a hard condition to fix. Look up a valve adjustment on youtube for the horizontal engines that are on the 50,70, 110, 125, 140, 160, 170, and 190cc pitbikes. Takes about 15 minutes to adjust them. The carb is easy too if you can get the jets for it. Its probably a PZ20 Heck a whole carb off ebay is like 30 bucks if you find that you can access the jets or find jets to fit. Stick with the bike and we can help you through it.

DO NOT continue to run that engine with the air fuel mixture being so lean, you can burn a piston. Pull the spark plug, what color is it? Normal is a tan brown. Too RICH is BLACK, too LEAN is white.

Well, since you started a new thread, I can only assume you already adjusted the valves like I had suggested in your other post and it did not make a difference?
If not, then the carb tuning was going to be the next step, as mentioned by letsride.

Since this is so far only happening after idling for a little while, I will start with one question.
Is the choke left on (either half or fully) during the whole time the bike is idling up to the point the exhaust starts getting this hot?

Considering there is no fast idle with these engines/carbs, a faster, and assumingly smoother, idle with the choke on is an odd reaction. Usually when the idle speed increases due to an increase in fuel relative to air (via choke butterfly) it indicates a severely lean condition. I would definitely pull the carb, take all of the jets out, clean everything up, and blow compressed air through the various passages in the carb. Maybe also consider passing a small wire through the jet orifices and carb passages to ensure there is no debris causing a fuel flow issue. Also check the float level. With the carb inverted, the floats should be level with the bowl flange.
