Battery Question
So guys, I never had a dual sport so this may sound like a dumb question. What should I expect to work if running with no battery? Should all the lights work? I notice the horn works so I'm thinking everything else should too but just wanted to confirm.
Thanks

Some of the China bikes work just fine with no battery, some don't. Everything except the electric starter works on my Lifan 200 without the battery (and it's been run for weeks that way) but that's not the case on my Zongshen 200. The Lifan runs the lights on regulated AC where the Zongshen runs them on DC. I don't know about the Kazuma.

Okay thanks guys, horn works but the rear blinkers don't. I'll be plugging in the headlight again and tail light so we'll see how that goes. Also looking for a cheap battery so I can start sorting that out.
So a few threads on batteries just haven't read any yet.

http://www.chinariders.net/showthrea...357#post214357 You could go with the smallest, lightest unit if you want to save space and weight. They aren't "cheap", but they'll last years, take a beating, and be a better value in the long run.

Measure your battery space and buy the largest battery that will fit from WalMart. Also make sure your positive and negative posts match up with your bike wires. Some bike wires are cut to fit and won't match up with the battery posts. Good to go.

Well for whatever reason they cut the two battery wires so I'm going to have to extend them and get some ends on them anyway. And I don't have a battery box yet so skies the limit, guess I'll see what I can strap to the cargo rack ha-ha.

These two wires are pretty critical so I would fully replace them if possible as opposed to splicing. If you must splice then I would recommend soldering. / |
