Shock Specs?
I'm looking for detailed shock specs on the RX3, I've got a builder to dial up a couple custom progressive shocks for 1/2 the cost of CSC's but i need the specs on our current one to start.. Anyone have them, CSC hasn't replied to my request ..

Exactly what specs are you asking for? I have an OEM shock sitting in the garage and could easily measure it.

If your buddy can work up a quality replacement shock for your RX3 maybe he can do the same for my RX4. I'm running into a brick wall on that project. Please keep me/us informed.

Coil thickness on my OEM shock is 11.67 mm, which includes the protective sheathing. Probably 10-11 mm without the coating.

Here's another question that i cant get CSC to answer for some reason, what do you (or anyone) know what the actual shock travel is for the stock set up?

Edit: I just had a look at the Zongshen RX3 service manual, and it states 130 mm for the front spring stroke, and 45mm of stroke for the rear shock. Also, the front spring free length is listed as 425 mm, with the rear at 235 mm. Last edited by Working_ZS; 01-22-2020 at 09:35 AM. Reason: Add Info |

45mm? Seriously, 1.77" of travel. Now wonder they bottom out with such ease.
OK, that gives me the last bit of info, i think we'll have a winner soon. Thank You!!!!! |

I just measured my OEM RX3 shock, distance from bottom of shock body to bump stop is about 53mm. I can see from the oil ring that the shock used up all of that travel. Still not much travel but certainly more than the 45mm listed earlier. That tells me the shock really needs better than average valving in the body in order to react and dampen over such a short distance, without being overly hard on less aggressive bumps.
