Check your throttle tube on old bikes
While doing routine maintenance on my Lifan 200 this morning I noticed the plastic throttle tube is partially cracked. It cracked on the top in the space between the grip and the aluminum housing. I suspect UV as the cause from all those years parked in the sunshine. Wouldn't want to have it crack all the way through while powering up a steep trail, or with a tailgating Tesla on your butt as you accelerate away from a stop light.

Excellent tip! I can see where it could stick at WOT at the worst time.

If the tube broke all the way the engine would go to idle and depending on the bike the grip could slide off the handlebar. You could pull on the cable housing where it comes out of the throttle assembly to work the throttle but it's not easy to ride that way.

That looks like a good opportunity for an upgrade.
