Brozz Recon updates
Hi guys
Just wanted to touch bases on my new Recon As you may remember i sold my TBR to my neighbor and i went ahead and purchased a 2020 Brozz Recon from Jeff at peace sports. Been busy at work so it's been a little longer than expected to get her assembled and ready to ride. So had a little trouble putting on handguards and the front brakes had that wooden feeling on the first ride so will tell you about it. Hand guards : bought some cheap ones and had to heat and bend the aluminum bar to get them to fit right on the bike, used a propane torch and everything turned out good. Front brakes : i cleaned the disc with brake cleaner but when i rode around the block the brakes just slowed the bike and did not feel strong , it was a solid feel on the lever so not mushy like it had air in the system. I went back in to my garage , pulled off the caliper pushed the pads apart and took a hand file and gave each pad a light file to clean off whatever was on there from the factory. Second ride around the block the brakes felt much better and are biting hard , job done. I will add more thoughts as i can plus pictures |

I like the look of the Recon model. If I had to complain about anything it would be the fake carbon fiber headlight and the forks still being gold in color. Still a sweet looking bike.

Although i agree with Jeff from Peace Sports the bike is a lot better looking in the flesh than on video or pictures. Another thing i,m not totally sold on is the chrome exhaust covers for the cat and the muffler But as of now it is what it is as they say. So another thing people should know is you cannot simply remove the decals ( i thought i would change them up a little). The brozz/ Recon / front fender USA decals are clear coated over from the factory ? you can however peel off the dual sport decals from the front fork protectors if you wanted too. |

A couple of mods i did while assembling.
Front brake line: i added a small loop holder ( from autozone) that they use to hold brake pipes or fuel hose or wiring under the car. with this second holder ( on the upper triple clamp) and the factory one ( on the lower triple clamp) the brake line moves freely up and down during suspension compression, it also routed the line out of the way so it does not obscure the gauges. Next i left off the orange reflectors on the triple clamps as they are partially hidden by the tank mounted air deflectors anyway and might be why they are now mounted on the front fenders. Next was the seat bolt access which took me a while to figure out that one must remove or at least loosen the rear fender and tail light assy to get to the bolts. I simply cut off the extra plastic from the rear fender and can now take the seat off without taking the bike apart. Also i took a piece of foam i had laying around and covered up the hole where water can get under the seat ( i may make a little metal shield later that bolts on with the seat bolts). Also i filled in the factory hole (about an inch square) where water will go in under the seat any way. |

I also did not want or need the alarm system . I just wanted to cover what i did in case it has not been covered before.
After getting the bike running with all the factory stuff on to confirm it all works as it should. I also tested the remote start system ( which works ) come to find out if you remote start the bike then put in your key to ride that all goes well until you turn your key off .... the bike keeps running until you turn it off with the key fob(alarm/remote start) After unplugging the black alarm box and the siren you must reconnect the black/white and black wire on the bike to each other otherwise the bike does not turn off with the key. In the photos i'm pointing to the two wires that need to be connected back to one another on the bike. |

You could always connect it back and use it just as an alarm. You would just have to figure out what wires hook int the ignition system. I've bought remote/alarms for both my bikes and just never hooked up the remote start part. It may be something simple as not hooking those two wires back up to the unit.

I am fortunate that my bike is kept in a locked garage behind my house and i don't have to use it and leave it anywhere ( ie work or the store etc). |

I agree. My new bike has the same cap. Way better than the one on the Hawk.
