Others will chime in on the technical stuff but I went on Amazon and found the exact connector(s) to the one I had to replace.

Did u get a performance CDI and did it make a difference? The technical stuff is pretty straight forward when I ended up on a better web page

Generally speaking if there are two wires attached to the two prong connector it’s an ac cdi ,and if there is only one wire it’s a dc cdi .If you can turn your headlight on without the engine running ,you have a dc system .There are exceptions but this is a good start to figuring it out

Sounds like DC
The 2 wire connector does it have a black only wire? That’s 12v DC with ignition on? If that wire is red n white then I’d expect a black n yellow with it Black n yellow is the coil wire red n yellow is AC with about 75v AC while running or cranking That info gives you enough to determine what you have |

My cdi has one white plastic clip with 6 available spots, 5 are filled with wires. I will do some testing tonight. I am going to hijack my own thread.......what is the tool called that stops the clutch from spinning? I am trying to remove the center bolt.

Ac/dc cdi
Check on youtube…. there is a good video on this.... the real test is... check the ignition wire and if the power goes off and on when you turn the ignition switch,.. then it is a dc cdi
