Copolymer Hyde racing skid plates
Hey guys! I found copolymer skid plates that look very much like they would fit a hawk 250. I would love one as it doesnt increase the weight at all, looks pretty slick, and is supposed to be a pretty tough skid plate. I'm gonna give them a call for precise specs so I can try and match with the hawk.
It's either the xr400 or the crf230 model I think. https://www.hyderacing.net/index.php...plate/HP-SG-33 https://www.hyderacing.net/index.php...oke-skid-plate |

If I had to bet money on it, I would say the CRF230 plate might be the winner. Their frames are very similar in size/shape/design to the Hawks and similar bikes.

I second that, the one for the crf 230 seems to match the hawk frame closer. Altough i think it's a waste of money. Since it's not meant for the hawk, if it breaks or something happen to it, they will not give you warranty because :
"This guard can crack if not mounted with all the hardware supplied or is improperly positioned." "Teflon/Co-polymer... " Is just a fancy way to say teflon coated abs. Down the road, is just a plastic skid plate that's hold on place by a few brackets mounted on the chasis. It's like calling a 4t motorcycle, "Two wheels vehicle operated by an Otto cycle engine" Want a skid plate that's lightweight? Just get a sheat of kydex, shape in the form you want, make a nice bracket for it, mount it and call it a day. |

Google "cutting bord skid plate"
It was a trip to the discount store, 3 stainless U bolts and a propane torch to heat and bend. A quick dunk in a water bucket cooled the hot plastic to the final shape. I did a cardboard template and sawed it to profile, sanded the edges smooth. It's an easy afternoon project.
