New UK Skyteam V-Raptor 250 - Security
I bought a DataTag pack to install on the bike. This consists of three readable chips, some stickers and a few hundred microdots all with the same serial number embedded.
Two of the chips are about the size of a grain of rice and one is about 1 cm round. One of the small chips has been inserted in the foam of the seat, one has been concealed in the wiring loom and the larger chip has been stuck with epoxy and well hidden around the frame. The stickers have been put on side panels, inside headlight, under seat and a few other places and the hologram sticker on the swinging arm. I also purchaed an Oxford Boss disc lock which came with the reminder cable - I have tried to drive off with a disc lock on before, luckily with no damage, so these spirals are worth it. What you get Security sticker The microdots are suspended in a clear paint and this has been dabbed on all of the panels, fenders, headlight, frame, head stock and anywhere else I could "dab". Every Police force in the UK and Europe have been given scanners by Data Tag and it is a proven system and has helped prevent theft and also lead to recovery of stolen equipment and prosecution of bike thieves. The disc lock is an Insurance recommended item and is another visible "keep off" . Jeff

Excellent idea. Likely only a matter of time before we see a similar tracking system.
I like the visual lock reminder; kind of a "remove before flight" deal.

Indeed, the reminder cable is mandatory.
I really like the DataTag system. I wish we had it here in North America.
