hi bird airbox swap for k&n
I have a 2006 hibird QY200 enduro. my mechanic misplaced my airbox and no longer deal with him. but i want to put a k&n filter anyway. im pretty sure i need a 27 mm filter. once i attatch it i was told i need to adjust the carb. also something to do with making sure water doesnt get in the carb from using a k&n. Ive rebuilt a honda cb750 cafe racer, but with lots of assistance with adjusting the carb. I know about the carb enough to do the job, but not sure about the exact adjustments it takes for a k&n filter. Any advice would be great. Cheers.

You will likely need to go up one or maybe two sizes in the main jet.

I replaced the airbox on my 2007 bird with an old wire mesh pod off my 75 honda 750 . I just raised the circlip on the main jet one notch. It seems to run well and has good plug color. If you want another stock box and the one off a 2007 will fit, drop a line. , jack

I second the recomondation of Kato for the Uni-type filter. The double foam element is much better at trapping the fine dust on an enduro application than wire mesh. It just occurred that I have the air box and stock filter from my '07 Hibird gy250. It's yours if you want it and you think it might fit.
