GPS to the rescue!
Hey guys! My KLR snapped it's speedo cable on my way to work yesterday morning... I have a new one on order but it will take about a week to get here. I have a pretty good idea of how fast I'm going on the highway in 5th gear by the engine RPM's, but no clue when I'm in the slower zones so I'm going to use my car gps to do my speedo duties for a week till my new cable comes in . I knew that 12volt adapter would come in handy! Lol! With our short (micro) season here there's no way I'm going to stop riding the bike for a week unless I absolutely have to! I'll be sure to lube the cable up well so it hopefully lasts a little longer than this one did.

Glad you got a temporary solution. Don't miss any good riding days!. Nice to see it's not only Q's that break cables! :P

I spotted a handlebar mount on eBay that would accept my gigantic and antiquated GPS; it's tempting.

The car GPS is a good solution, Stew! Summer is fleeting; get out and ride!
