Thank you sir. Much appreciated. Next question would be: How difficult is it to make one?
And what to start with (another key?, from what?). That is, in case its recommended. I can hold my own with tools and own quite a bit of them, but don't have special equipment.

TORKER.

Why not just dremel part of the old key, fairly certain that's all the resellers are doing.

You would have too much play. The 4 degree timing key is machined with an offset.

What Jerry sez is definitely true. There can't be any play in the woodruff key. That is, it can't be a loose fit in either the crankshaft OR the rotor.

A timing advance key has a lower section that fits the slot in the drive shaft, and an offset half round upper half that fits in the rotor. Neither side is "ground down".

You can see in the photo, the upper and lower parts are the SAME width. It is just offset. The offset key must fit tightly on the shaft and in the rotor, so you can't just grind off metal to make the offset.
