Springfield, Missouri Share the Road training day

Springfield Police put on a free, one day, motorcycle skills training course.
Attended today with my Dad who's in his 70's.
Talk about a humbling experience! Lots of low speed clutch/brake work, tight turns etc.
Well worth looking into if your local police motor units offer anything like this.

It's good that they do that. My experience with the one day MSF Advanced Rider Course was an eye opener on my own bad habits. The Basic and Basic 2 courses didn't exist when I got my license (mumblemumble) years ago.
Here in Illannoy, IDOT(one letter short of idiot)had a change in leadership that gutted the $25 MSF program. SIU, Southern Illannoy University, took over the program and has just about killed it off through ineptitude and a 'my or the highway' attitude towards the instructors and students. Many of the instructors have taken the highway and waved bye bye. The students are stuck with just a couple of class sites in southern Illannoy.
That leaves the good but $350 courses offered through HD in the north and central parts of the state.
