Don't you think that this is because it makes so much sense to have the intake for
both cylinders inside the "V" where you can have a common air box? Otherwise you end up with a very hot exhaust next to the intake from the front cylinder and the rear cylinder intake scrunched between the suspension bits and the rear airbox who knows where.
