Not sure why these are crapping out like they are but I have many old style spinning cables and they all last a very long time (normally) and are accurate enough if lubed.
That said, this could be the motivation I need to jump to mjstef's setup once it's done. Mrs. 2LZ really like the sweeping tach and digital speedo on the RX3 and this would cure that problem.
