Picture Game

I love playing the picture challenge game on another forum. It's a good way to get out riding, exploring and posting pics of your bike!

Rules are easy: Post a pic of your bike for the present challenge and present a NEW challenge. If after a week, noone gets it, you can complete your own challenge and present a NEW one. Only thing is you have to present new pics. You can't dig up some old picture from six years ago to win the challenge. The whole spirit is in getting out to get the pic and win the challenge and keep the game rolling.
Anybody interested in playing?

First challenge is: your bike,.......with a freeway in the background!

Weldangrind 08-21-2018 10:54 AM

Great idea! We've done similar things here in the past, but not for a long time. I'd play, but my bike is in storage, awaiting a move.

Cbr, if I understand the rules of this game correctly, these pictures should be what you're looking for. That's my Hawk next I-10 here in Phoenix. Who decides the win, and do I now need to post a challenge?

Great pic! https://www.motohouston.com/forums/i...es/toothy9.gifYou're winning with that pic Emerikol! Can't wait to see what your challenge is so I can try to get it before somebody else!

Emerikol 08-22-2018 02:08 PM

Great! Just wanted to make sure that I had the rules right. Here's the next Picture Game Challenge:

- A picture of your bike near an airplane or airport sign. Bonus points for how close you get and how big the airplane is. Helpful Hint: If you have a municipal airport near you, walk into the office and explain what you're trying to do. Most of those airports will let you take your bike right out onto the flight line and take a few pictures if they know what you're doing. They're really very helpful like that.

JerryHawk250 08-22-2018 02:27 PM

Too bad I didn't take the Hawk to work. I could of rode out to the bosses hanger and took a picture in front of his plane.

cbrfxr67 08-22-2018 04:23 PM

IAH is close by,..hmmmmmmm. This is a real deal challenge!

Lit Hawk 08-25-2018 07:05 PM

I’m like 5min away from IAH also. I’m gonna head over there now and see what I can get.

JerryHawk250 08-25-2018 07:23 PM

I rode right past the airport today and forgot all about taking a picture. Had two helicopters sitting up close to the fence too. To busy enjoying the ride.

Azhule 08-25-2018 08:02 PM

If I find the time to put a bike back together, I can get this one really easy... a small airport is a few miles from where our China Bike is parked

cbrfxr67 08-27-2018 11:46 AM

There's a little airport not too far from work. I think I'm going to be able to get this one at lunch.

winning! http://gstwins.com/gsboard/Smileys/New_Smile/woohoo.gif

Wish I couldve gotten closer but, that's all I got.

So,...how about your bike with,...

a GAS PUMP!

Azhule 08-27-2018 03:29 PM

Spent a good portion of the morning and got the china bike put back together... got it started up, walked around it doing my usual "before ride" checks... just my luck, the headlight and brake light handlebar switch is toast... don't think there is a way I can fix it

Soooo, no riding the china bike on the road until I get some replacement CSC/Zongshen parts fitted to the Bashan :hehe:

I might spend a good portion of tomorrow morning getting the KLR650 back on the road while I wait for my china parts to be shipped

Nice job, CBR! I'm headed back to Phoenix tomorrow, so I went ahead and gassed up the DR so I could head straight out at first light tomorrow. Here's a picture of the DR at a Chevron gas pump, as well as a bonus shot of the Vegas skyline as viewed from Henderson/Lake Mead. Here's the new challenge: A picture of your bike in it's natural habitat. Dirt bike, on a dirt track. Dual Sport on a dirt strip with road in the background. Superbikes and sportbikes on a track or highway. So on down the line. Good luck all!

Great pics E! I think my Vader's natural habitat is lane splitting at traffic lights. Man that's a great challenge!https://www.motohouston.com/forums/i...ies/happy7.gif

siikmonkee 08-29-2018 11:54 AM

Lane splitting, maybe - but idk, the natural habitat of these little anklebiters is really 'if I fits, I sits'.

So maybe somewhere that a normal bike might be a little big? Or just...not a normal place for a motorcycle? Somewhere like a playground?

Help me out, I'd love to get out today.

cbrfxr67 08-29-2018 12:18 PM

Siik I think anywhere's great for these little bikes! Although a playground has a fun spin on it! I hope you get it!

Pete, the short answer is yes, that's what we see in most of North America. Denver, CO is a notable exception. The elevation there is roughly 5,300'. There are also some other cities in Colorado that have higher elevation. Because the air there is so much thinner, the gas stations usually have 83, 85, and 87 octane, respectively. In the states, we use the (R+M)/2 method to calculate octane, but I know that's not a universal format. Some countries use the RON/MON method. What octane ratings do you see over there, and what is the calculation method?

So...drove past like, three playgrounds. This is getting a lot harder with school back in session.

RON testing produces higher octane numbers for the same grade of fuel. I would say that the fuel across the pond is pretty much the same refinement level as what we get over here. Only one way to find out: One of us needs to put our bike on a plane and go visit the other! :D

Where is everyone? We're coming up on a week, which means I get to complete my own challenge and issue a new one. Somebody, anybody, please drag your bike out and get some pictures! This is the perfect time of year to be riding!

JerryHawk250 09-02-2018 01:49 PM

It's been raining for pass few days and doesn't look like it's ending any time soon.

I got your back

Dual sport mode activate! Form of China Bike!

And yes I got my lights working ("jerry rigged" them just for these pics) :hehe:

How about the next challenge be, a pic riding "2 up"... either 2 people up on the bike or you and the bike with 2 tires up in the air (I hear some are jumping their China Bikes after all  )

cbrfxr67 09-02-2018 06:20 PM

Azhule winning!

Hmmm two up,...maybe I could take a pic in a reflection:hmm:

If you are creative enough to make it look like 2 people are riding with "smoke and mirrors" magic type trickery, I don't have a problem with it (just no photo-shop cheating! :p )

cbrfxr67 09-07-2018 09:47 AM

This was the best I could do. My resistant wife barely cooperated at the gym this morning for a two up picture. https://www.motohouston.com/forums/i.../lovestory.gif
https://image.ibb.co/mMHbEe/IMAG7026.jpg

ANNnnnnnd if this is acceptable Azhule, next challenge is

your bike at the gym, of coursehttps://www.motohouston.com/forums/i...es/toothy9.gif

Azhule 09-07-2018 10:53 AM

That's a perfect "2 up" pic

Time for someone else to head to the Gym for a pic :hehe:

I haven't been to the gym in years... This is actually the closest I've been in a long time. I wonder how many calories I burned through osmosis by being this close? http://chinariders.net/attachment.ph...1&d=1536434698

Next challenge is actually three parts. 1st, a picture of what you like best about your bike. 2nd, a picture of what you like least about your bike. Finally, a picture of your favorite sticker/mod/farkle/or battle scar that tells a story.

I pretty much like everything about the bike.....
Don't like that it has steel wheels, would prefer they were aluminum
Favorite Farkle...the Madstad Windshield system..

For the next challenge......your bike on/near a bridge, extra points for an old steel bridge :)

There's an old-style railroad trestle on my way to my barber's shop. Stopped and took a quick picture on my way to get a haircut... Okay, Okay, I went and got my haircut just so I could get this picture... :lmao:
http://chinariders.net/attachment.ph...1&d=1537312922

Next challenge:
Your bike out in front of a motorcycle shop in your town. Bonus points for how close you get to their display bikes!

2LZ 09-19-2018 10:15 AM

"...a motorcycle shop in your town."

That counts me out!

There's gotta be somewhere that sells motorcycles out there. If not, I'd say that's an excuse to go for a ride!

In Volcano, everything but beer is mail order!

siikmonkee 09-22-2018 05:43 PM

I think I'm going to take this one - I've got a few motorcycle shops nearby that I can swing.

This picture is way late, so obviously not counting it towards anything - but took this earlier this morning as I had said I would earlier in the thread. Was supposed to be of our anklebiters 'natural environment' - of all the things, I thought "playground".

Enjoy!

https://preview.ibb.co/nwqDWp/IMG_0002.jpg

siikmonkee 09-22-2018 07:12 PM

Got the picture!

The place closed right as I got there (three minutes to 5) so all the display bikes were already put away...so I drove onto the sidewalk and got as close to the window as I dared.

Hope this counts! New challenge - your bike next to an old antique car. Bonus points if the car is rusting out and being overtaken by weeds/plants!
