Powersportsbest.com & Greenearthscooters.com

I just ordered a Roketa MC-119-150 scooter from Powersportsbest.com and a Verona 50 scooter form Greenearthscooters.com. I will update my experience with these vendors here.

I ordered from both tonight online and received a email promptly from both sites with order confirmation and order number. Greenearthscooter included a "Post Delivery Inspection Guide" in PDF that was pretty well written and had plenty of pictures to help a beginner wrencher.

SpudRider 08-13-2014 12:42 AM

Welcome; we are glad you joined us. :hi:

Thanks for letting us know of your purchases from these vendors. We appreciate your helpfulness in taking the time to report on your buying experience with them. :)

ghcoe 08-13-2014 06:55 AM

Thanks. I could swear that I had posted here before. My Join date is 03-25-2008 but maybe I just lurked. weird.

SpudRider 08-13-2014 01:52 PM

I assumed you were new here because of your post count. ;) Maybe the new bulletin board software messed up your post count.

Day #1.

I received email confirmation of order received from Greenearthscooters. Then a order cancelation and then a orders shipped confirmation. The new confirmation was priced $120.00 lower than my previous order. Verified at the bank and sure enough I was billed $120.00 less than what I was expecting to pay. Now that is pretty OK to me.

Powersportsbest sent a order confirmation with a note that there was a problem with billing. I was at work so I did not get this email till I got home. They did call me at 12:30 and I returned the call at 1:30. Tina was very polite and helpful through a few more calls between her and my bank to get the money through to them. Finally got everything straightened out with the bank and she said she would have the scooter out tomorrow. Always answered within a few rings. Never put on hold or had to leave a message.

So far so good except for my banking problem which was because of two large purchases in such a short period of time flagged to suspicious activity.

SpudRider 08-14-2014 01:09 AM

So far, so good. :)

Day #2

I got a order shipped email from Powersportsbest. Should be here Tuesday the 19th by what the tracking number informs me. yeah, 7 days from order to arrival not bad even with some banking issues. Probably would have been here Monday if it was not for that.

Received the order shipped from Greenearthscooters, but never received a tracking number or a estimated date for delivery. Decided to give them a call. They promptly answered and knew what I was after because he gave me all the information without me even giving him my name! I asked him how he knew what to look up. He said he saw the caller id and figured I was after the shipping info. Not bad, even though I did have to call for tracking info. Scooter should be here Wednesday the 20th.

Now the problem is I have to take time off from work to receive both scooters. I will probably have to schedule the home deliveries for Wednesday or Thursday. Bummer for me since my scooter will be here first.

Hey SpudRider I see you are from Idaho too. I am in the big city. By the pictures I have seen it looks like your in the southern part of the state too.

SpudRider 08-16-2014 01:25 AM

Yes, I live on the other side of the state in East Idaho. :)

katoranger 08-16-2014 11:17 AM

I would be interested to see the PDF sheet they sent. I may be a good reference in the scooter forum.

ghcoe 08-16-2014 06:03 PM

Looks like the file is too big to upload to the forum.

katoranger 08-16-2014 11:50 PM

I wonder if we have someone savvy enough to post it. (not me)

Dave_D 08-17-2014 12:56 AM

Haven't tryed the site. Quick google search
But upload the file to a site like this http://www.pdfonlinereader.com/WebPdf2/ and paste the link ?

Dave

SpudRider 08-17-2014 02:26 AM

If the PDF file is too large, the forum owner/administrator would need to intervene. ;) As Dave mentioned, I wonder if there is a free, PDF hosting website?

mmprestine 08-18-2014 02:30 PM

Just post it to Google docs then share it from there.

I'll check into that when I get a little time. Thanks.

Day #6

Got my scooter from Powersportsbest! Picked it up at the dock so I would not have to wait for delivery. I would have had to wait till Friday for a delivery time that would work for both of us. Arrived in great shape ready to run except the rear view mirrors. Started second try. Now to change the oil and get it tagged.....

Oh, and get my motorcycle learners permit too.....

katoranger 08-18-2014 11:08 PM

Picking up from the dock works better sometimes. We have an old dominion dock 15 minutes away.

Been busy around here so sorry for the delay. Yes, picked up the package at the dock. It was a little scary once I saw the pallet with the item. Looked like it got hit from one side or the other, but then I noticed that the shrink wrap was straight so I figured the box collapsed some when it was shrink wrapped. Went ahead and lifted the box to make sure and all was good. Signed the shipping doc and went on my way.

Once I got home I went ahead and started to unwrap. You can tell in these photos that indeed the scooter did move forward on the pallet past the tire chaulks. It could have been bad if the kick stand managed to slip farther between the pallet slats. Good thing a fork lift tine did not find it. Got it off the pallet and down off the trailer, checked for any major defects from shipping. All was good.

Called today about the MCO and told them about the shipping issue. Tina said she would pass the info on to the shipping department. She also told me the MCO was in the mail and I should receive it soon.

I will try and do a update soon on the unit here http://www.chinariders.net/showthread.php?t=13969 .

SpudRider 08-19-2014 11:52 PM

That's a nice looking scooter. Thanks for posting the photographs. :)

Weldangrind 08-19-2014 11:56 PM

Very cool! It looks ready for adventure.

culcune 08-20-2014 11:14 PM

I like the updated BWS look! Congratulations on your new bike!! When I ordered my bike and my friend's sister's bike from Excalibur, my friend and I did the PDI on the scooter. It got very frustrating at times, but once it was done, I feel confident I could put another BWS 50cc scooter together (it was a Lintex branded bike), as well as another TMEC 200 enduro. But seeing how easy your bike was to put together ;) I think that might be the way to go next time :)

ghcoe 08-22-2014 01:01 PM

Thanks. I think it is a great looking scooter too. It looks like it is well built too. Turns out to be manufactured by Jonway.

We did receive the Verona 50 on Wednesday the 20th. I have been too busy to post so I hope to get some time this weekend to update.

The Verona arrived in perfect condition. We did put it together and it runs well.

Day #8

Well, finally got caught up a bit to post. We did pick up the Verona 50 on Wednesday night from the dock. Again it was because we would have to wait till Friday for home delivery do to my work schedule.

The item arrived in great shape. No damage at all to the box. We were happy to see that.

The scooter was packaged well in a steel frame. The frame unbolted so you could get to the scooter easily. We had to install the front shield, headlight assembly, handlebars and front tire. All went together easily and we had a completed scooter in just about a hour.

After we assembled the scooter we went ahead and changed out the motor oil and gear oil. Took a couple of turn overs to get it to start, but once started it ran great outside of a low idle.

SpudRider 08-23-2014 12:57 AM

That is another nice looking scooter.

Weldangrind 08-23-2014 11:56 AM

Very sharp machine. I like the classic styling, like an old Vespa or Lambretta.

Is your son planning performance upgrades yet? :D

Not yet, but once he drives my 150cc I think he will. Or upgrade the scooter.

Weldangrind 08-23-2014 03:46 PM

70cc kits are very inexpensive, as are performance intake and exhaust systems. In addition, there are performance CDI ignitions that are cheap as chips.

We are going to try one of these for sure. Is there a good one or just any off of ebay ?

Day #16

Received my MSO and Bill of Sale today from Powersportsbest. So off to register and title it tomorrow. Rode it around a bit tonight feels pretty nice.

So if everything goes well tomorrow at the DMV I feel I got a great deal and good service from Poersportsbest. I always got a quick answer when I called and they were always polite to me. Product arrived in good shape and was what was advertised, maybe a little bit more. This scooter is really a nice scooter for the money. Looking forward to some good times with this one.

We are waiting for a MSO from Greenearthscooters. Idaho requires all scooters to be registered and titled to be used on the streets. I sent them a email and they replied quickly with a web page link to fill out to get a MSO sent to us. Should be 7-10 days for delivery.

SpudRider 08-29-2014 12:13 AM

Thanks for posting the update. :)

I don't have enough experience to say which is better. Just try one that is designed for a 50cc four stroke China scooter and see what the difference is.

Day #17

Received the MSO for the Bashan Verona. As long as everything goes through OK at the DMV this has been a good experience from Greenearthscooters.com. Again, order was sent out quick, calls were answered, emails were replied to quickly, Received a discounted price even after already purchasing, WOW! Unit arrived as advertised. A PDF was emailed to me to help me get it up and running. Which really I did not need, but it is nice for someone without experience with such things.

So, yes I would order from these guys again.

SpudRider 09-09-2014 02:39 PM

Thanks for the update. We always enjoy reading reports of excellent customer service. :)
