Welcome!

I'm very sorry to hear about your father. You honour his memory by restoring his bike; I hope it gives you many happy miles.

I don't know what kind of bike you have, but I know that the engine is very similar to a Honda CG125. Yours could be a 150 or a 200. The should be a number stamped on the side of the engine, near the gear shift. If you tell us that number, we might be able to tell you more. Is there any information on the steering head decal?

pchestaro 11-06-2011 11:42 PM

Welcome to our forum. We appreciate you sharing your project with us.

I am also sorry to hear about your dad. My father was also murdered in 1973 when I was 8 and I still value those few things of his I have.

The exact brand of your bike is not too important. For the most part a Honda clone Chinabike is the same as any other.

Thanks for the pictures.

Bill

I suggest you contact QLink Motors. :)

If it was me for about the same money I'd make a MAJOR upgrade to a Trail Tech Vapor.

SpudRider 11-25-2011 04:02 PM

Some riders prefer mechanical speedometers. Mechanical speedometers are very durable, and usually last the life of the motorcycle, unlike the bike computers. ;) However, considering the huge markup on QLink parts, the QLink speedometer probably costs as much as the Trail Tech Vapor. 8O If that's the case, I would also prefer the Trail Tech Vapor. ;)

pchestaro 11-26-2011 02:02 AM

Thanks Spud!!  appreciate your Help i will do that.

pchestaro 11-26-2011 02:06 AM

i had looked at the Trail Tech Vapor, but i think the one on the Q looks so Nice, i will see what i do! thanks all for your suggestions, appreciated.

Weldangrind 11-26-2011 02:20 PM

You could also look for a generic speedo on eBay, and hope that it suits your front wheel diameter and cable size.

Like this: Universal Dual Odometer Speedometer Meter Motorcycle

Or this Royal Enfield unit: Royal Enfield Motorcycle Speedometer 0-160 KPH White

The Royal Enfield speedometer has the benefit of instrument lights built in. If you could find a Royal Enfield to look at, you could determine if the cable and front wheel match your bike.

SpudRider 11-26-2011 08:27 PM

Those are nice, analog speedometers, Weld! :D

Speedo Update

Just order this: http://trailtech.net/endurance.html
i think is more the what i need.. thanks for the suggestions

FastDoc 11-29-2011 06:25 PM

Great choice. I like the TT products and they seems like an outstanding value also. I considered that unit for my XR250R but decided to go with a $10 bicycle unit.

Weldangrind 11-29-2011 07:33 PM

They look really cool, but I find analogue gauges much easier to read.

pchestaro 12-14-2011 09:44 AM

Finaly reunited with my china bike!!
Let the mods Begin......

http://i1233.photobucket.com/albums/...1215-00012.jpg

Weldangrind 12-15-2011 09:33 PM

Thanks for the pics! Looking forward to pics in the mountains when you go riding. :D

The engine ID breaks down like this:
1 - one cylinder
57 - 57mm cylinder bore diameter
F - air cooled
M - motorcycle
I - 125cc engine

The rest of it is likely just serial info. What do you mean that the link does not look right to you?

pchestaro 12-16-2011 08:58 AM

Thanks For the info Weld, for some reson this bike are branded X1000 here in DR, and by the way this is china bike paradise here, maybe is because is a 3rd world country

pchestaro 12-17-2011 09:10 AM

Ok so i did a fitting test on the R6 Shock nice bolt on upgrade, the bike feels like a totally deferent bike just by sitting on it and jumping on top of it, the adjustability on this shock is amazing it has that Honda, yamaha, and big name bike feel to it, "well it is a yamaha shock" i will take it apart again to install my raising kit, thats the Kungfu 250 dog-bone with the stock brace,
http://www.chinariders.net/modules.p...wtopic&t=13293
here are a few pics.
http://i1233.photobucket.com/albums/...1216-00014.jpg

http://i1233.photobucket.com/albums/...1216-00015.jpg

already got my first problem the tail fender that i got is for zong and is alittle wider

http://i1233.photobucket.com/albums/...1215-00010.jpg

http://i1233.photobucket.com/albums/...1215-00011.jpg

i will be putting the battery under the seat, there is plenty of room, also i removed the seat cover, new one going in i will be doing some mod, to the foam as well..

pchestaro 12-17-2011 10:14 AM

for some reason this bikes are branded X1000 here in DR, http://i1233.photobucket.com/albums/...1215-00013.jpg

so when i go to buy part i have to refer to the bike as X1000..

pchestaro 12-19-2011 03:28 PM

Ok. So i modded My seat Foam And seat cover is in. for some reason this bikes come with a big bump on the front of the seat and on the back as well. so i got a new hacksaw blade and a grinder and started to cut some foam of the back and front of the seat.
http://i1233.photobucket.com/albums/...1217-00039.jpg

Here is what i did.
http://i1233.photobucket.com/albums/...1217-00042.jpg
http://i1233.photobucket.com/albums/...1217-00041.jpg
http://i1233.photobucket.com/albums/...1217-00040.jpg
Unfortunately i did not take pictures of the Foam after hitting it with the grinder And make in it nice and smooth, but here is the final product.
PS. the Cover is not staple all the way.

http://i1233.photobucket.com/albums/...1218-00053.jpg
http://i1233.photobucket.com/albums/...1218-00052.jpg
http://i1233.photobucket.com/albums/...1218-00051.jpg
http://i1233.photobucket.com/albums/...1218-00050.jpg

its all just put in place for fitting purpose that back bracket will be painted.
i Also put together the kung fu dog bone with success. and it did the trick i am one Happy dominican..

http://i1233.photobucket.com/albums/...1218-00055.jpg
http://i1233.photobucket.com/albums/...1218-00049.jpg
http://i1233.photobucket.com/albums/...1216-00023.jpg
