Amazon Prime

Has anyone try to order anything on Amazon today. Prime now shows April 22 delivery no matter what i look at. :hmm: I was going to order jets but not waiting that long. I found jets half the price on Ebay in the US and will be delivered no later than Monday. What's up with that? Has Amazon shut down? I guess there's no point in paying for Prime for now until this is all over.

2LZ 03-24-2020 02:25 PM

I don't have Prime but use Amazon as my main store. Yes, all 6 of my orders froze for about a week, but are now starting to move as of last night. I had another order ship today. I'm in no hurry. The whole world is a mess at the moment.

JerryHawk250 03-24-2020 02:42 PM

I had a few orders i made a week ago and had no problem getting them on time. Something new to live with for a while. I made two orders 3 weeks ago that were being shipped from China. They just pasted through customs and are scheduled to be delivered by the end of the week. But i knew they would be delayed.

roundhouse 03-24-2020 08:04 PM

People went full hambone hoarding stuff I reckon.

The delivery trucks are full to the brim with bulky packs of 36 rolls of toilet paper. I guess some folks go through it pretty fast. We can make a roll last a week in each bathroom. 2 rolls a week, equals 18 weeks. Do these folk have constant explosive diarrhea?

MADNESS!

Why yes....yes I do. ;-)

Megadan 03-25-2020 08:32 PM

Amazon is basically putting priority status on speific goods and everything else is secondary. Thus, if you order something like jets, they may be held a week or two until they feel they have space for it.

I wondered that myself. I bought one of those 36 packs from Costco once. I literally went a full year before I needed TP again. :hmm:

Back when we were a family of four, three of them being females, we blew thru the TP.

“Blew thru the TP” 😂

That’s too funny!

I tried ordering some stuff from Amazon, but like JerryHawk250 said, that boat ain’t sailing! I ended up ordering through eBay, Back Market and Walmart.com.

Be safe out there!

2LZ 03-27-2020 12:21 PM

As of yesterday, I received all but one order that already had an April delivery date.

That's good to hear. I have one order from amazon that hasn't been shipped yet that i ordered two days ago. Nothing that i'm in a big hurry to get but would be nice to get it within a week.

Received the last order today.
The final part to my Franken-strat. Raw mahogany. Now the work begins.....

cycleway4 03-28-2020 08:32 AM

I have noticed my Prime orders are certainly not the way they were. I'm sure Amazon is overwhelmed right now, with way more orders, employee shortage, prioritized orders, shortages, etc.
Most things I order,..on the ad,..shows delivery time an unexpected, not the usual, few days out,...then on the actual order when placed,...seems the time is shorter,...then more often than not,..still arrives even quicker than that...but nothing in one, or 2 days.

Rangerscott 03-28-2020 11:30 PM

Important stuff ships first. Maybe add some thermaflu or something to your order.

JerryHawk250 03-30-2020 10:00 AM

Still no movement on my order on the 25th. :ohno: If no movement by the end of the day i'm cancelling the order. I can pay $2 more on Ebay and have it by Friday for the same item. Motorcycle mods are essential. It keeps me form going crazy. :lmao:

I can almost guarantee you that things are moving. Two of my 6 orders didn't even show as shipped and they showed up the following day. I think things are moving, albeit slowly, it's the order tracking that seems to be lagging worse.

My card was never charged and never received any kind of shipping notice. I just cancelled the order and was excepted. If it shows up now i guess it will be free. I ordered same exact item on Ebay (probaly the same seller)and already received the shipping notice. Looks like Friday delivery date.

I ordered another guitar part two days ago and it arrived today. I guess the Volcano post office is on it!

I guess my order must of fell off the desk into the waste basket. lol I figure a day or two delay but not a week. Seller or Amazon couldn't give me an explanation on why it hasn't been shipped. No problem, option two has it coming by Friday. ;) I ordered a tail bag for the X22R to put a few things in for my commute to work and back. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Motorcycle-...72.m2749.l2649

OneLeggedRider 04-01-2020 09:33 PM

Well I hope things aren't too delayed with Amazon. Friday I'm ordering a SYX Moto Holeshot 50cc dirtbike for Jay's 6yr old boy Cash. And Jay's already ordered him the helmet, gloves, armor and boots ( which were almost as much as the bike). But the good news is we haven't told Cash about it so he won't be disappointed if it doesn't show up on time. Can't say the same for us adults.. :hehe:

Kenstogie 04-01-2020 10:37 PM

my orders which are mostly for my Tao TBR7.... like a spark plug, anti seize, thread locker chain, etc have delivery dates of like 2-4 weeks...most or all were prime...

I've been finding the same items on Ebay and getting them much quicker. You will find some of the NON-Prime items on Amazon have a normal 3-5 days delivery.

This ^^^ is why I never joined Prime. I usually get free shipping on orders over 25.00 anyway, and I'm normally not in a hurry. I'd say at least 70% of the time, the order shows up far sooner than the shipping estimate.
Prime has its advantages for sure, especially if you have kids at home or watch a ton of movies, but that's not our case.

OneLeggedRider 04-05-2020 04:16 PM

Latest update. The 50cc dirtbike I ordered for Jay's boy Cash Friday morning hasn't been shipped and estimated delivery is 15 days rather than the usual 5 days from California. His gear, which was ordered a couple of days sooner is supposed to arrive tomorrow. They have added a banner to the top of their page saying essential items will get delivery priority.

I for one love Prime. For $12 a month I get free shipping on most items (a delivery truck stops here 10 to 15 days a month so it's a big savings for me), and I get TV, movies and music. That's a really good deal considering I pay more than that just for Netflix.

And I understand that they are just trying to cope with the increased home delivery demand so they will continue to get my business.

Wow! That's not good to hear.

JerryHawk250 04-06-2020 04:05 PM

I ordered handle bar risers over a week ago from Amazon. Never got a shipping notice, nothing. So Thursday April 2nd i found the same ones on Ebay but i could only find the size i needed from China and estimated 2 weeks delivery. It would still be quicker than the 4 weeks Amazon is giving. Anyway i cancelled the Amazon order. I was looking at tracking this morning from the ebay order and it has already passed through customs on the 4th and is on it way to destination. All i can say is Wow. How can that be?

OneLeggedRider 04-07-2020 03:02 PM

Wow, didn't have any trouble with the boys riding gear getting here and the bike should be here Thursday around noon and it requires a signature. The interesting thing is the seller is in California but it shipped from Dallas Texas, so it's probably from TXpowersports.

And at 6 days that's only one day slower than the normal shipping time.

JerryHawk250 04-07-2020 03:05 PM

Anything that is not shipped from Amazon's warehouses and coming directly from the seller will have close to normal shipping time. It's the stuff that's shipped form Amazon is the issue.

I imagine as big as amazon is they are shipping a lot of staple supplies and things directly in demand because of covid.

Red Hawk 04-16-2020 08:55 AM

I don’t really care. I DID PAY to be a prime member will they now refund me!? Where I live everything has to be shipped in and these delays are growing considerably longer. If they want out of the deal then I want a refund. Ebay by comparison has become lightning fast. And the USPS don’t even get me started. Scrap it and replace it with something that works. Their balance sheet is embarrassing with mismanagement.
