Lifan KPT400
1 Attachment(s)
Well it looks like Lifans next new bike to come to the US is the 2024 KPT400. I know they are going through EPA certification right now and should be available by next summer. This bikes will have all the bells and whistles. Here's an article on the KPT400. I guess I better start saving my money. lol

That beats everything in its class currently available! CSC, KTM, Royal Enfield will have to up their game.

I had seen some press releases. I'm glad they are finally producing it.

"VisorDown reports that Lifan KPT 400 will set you back around £3,500 (around $4,770)"
Lifans are usually priced a good bit higher than other China bikes. If the VisorDown report is correct, the KPT 400 could be a huge sales success. I could live with the odd styling at that price. |
I'm told with the higher cost of shipping from China they will be in the $5000 - $5500 range. I've been binge watching KPT 400 video all weekend. Lol The only problem I couldn't understand any of the Chinese. Lol

I was looking on the EPA list of motorcycles and it is no longer listed. Have you heard anything from Venom?

my money would still be with the Himalayan, particularly if this bike is over the 5k mark. In comparisons with the CSC model, the Himalayan was better off-road. so the question in my mind is how far off the road do you intend to get. I'm still leaning used KLR650 though. :)

I'm seriously waiting on this bike. I want an RX4 really bad, but I'm more than willing to pay a little extra to get the Lifan quality. But, if it doesn't come with the luggage, the RX4 will be my choice.

I really just want a 350-450cc dual sport.
Something like my Templar but with 30-40 horse. These ADV bikes just look to big for my tastes. Aesthetically pleasing though. |
Yep.....a KPX400 would be about right.

Unfortunately one of the guys at American Lifan over the weekend told me it doesn't look like the KPT 400 will be available before the summer. Herbie and I are planning a trip along the Gulf Coast. I guess I'll have to rig out the Vulcan S for the trip unless I run across another bike I like. Don't get me wrong. The Vulcan S is a comfortable bike. Just don't know how comfortable it will be after a couple of thousand miles. lol
