never thought of that i used a 120V outlet set to 200AC on the meter and i got 122.3 so i'm with in 2.3 v not horrible if you figure that in you get 14.7V right on the money

Weldangrind 06-17-2013 10:46 AM

Then I think you have a reg / rec problem. Try a new one.

Corvairkid 06-17-2013 01:38 PM

http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=1...4.12001318.0.0 <-- had to get one since the oem ones dead and the replacement i got from advanced auto blew up lmao!!!
http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=2...4.12001318.0.0 got one left and one right! no more ducking with switches!
i also striped the tape off the harness so it could dry out and re-loomed it in black wire loom with zip tires made it look a lot nicer then the oem tape job......

the guy that gave it to me have some remorse i think he came over the just as i got it running good for the first time after adjusting the valves and carb and dileing it i enriched it up a lottle (a little of a lot) and it wants to pull the front tire off the ground now! still caped at 7.5k rpms tho i want to get a hold of the guy i got the cdis from and see if they can slip me a few track boxes for unlimited rpms! i know this brave little motor has them hidden a way in side i can feel it and some how i know i can get an adjustable cam gear in there! }=) i cant help it i love to hot rod every thing still it spits fire and melts rubber!

Corvairkid 06-30-2013 03:16 PM

ok i got flash i hooked up one of the head lights to the flasher and it blinks so its got to be the leds not having enough amp ull to make the flasher work i need a resister

SpudRider 06-30-2013 03:18 PM

Better yet, get an LED flasher for your turn signals. ;)

Corvairkid 06-30-2013 03:23 PM

i had one it blew up....

SpudRider 06-30-2013 03:26 PM

It shouldn't have blown up, Kid. You need to find the problem with your electrical wiring, and solve it, or you will continue to blow up electrical components. ;) You must have have a electrical short somewhere in your wiring.

Corvairkid 06-30-2013 03:39 PM

no i looked there i had the whole harness apart and didnt spot any issues but then again it did blow up with the bad V/R/R i was using that made 18V... that guy that got the bike from me said he really dosnt what turn signals... what ever i just need to get the hi/lo head lights working

SpudRider 06-30-2013 06:42 PM

If the regulator/rectifier is good, and the wiring is good, then you shouldn't blow a new flasher relay. ;) However, if you don't need to install one, save the money. :)

Corvairkid 07-05-2013 07:04 AM

so back to the zong i cant get it to idle and accelerate right what am i missing this time i wonder.... it will rev up then bog out like its draining the carb of fuel but not filling up

SpudRider 07-05-2013 08:12 AM

Check the needle valve in the carburetor bowl. ;)

Corvairkid 07-05-2013 08:45 AM

its clean and operating properly as far as i can tell ill pull it and see it the floats are properly adjusted maybe there to low....

katoranger 07-05-2013 11:29 AM

Make sure the tank is venting too. Try opening the fuel cap and see if it gets better.

Corvairkid 07-05-2013 08:45 PM

well i found a broken spring in the choke...... i wonder if that was the problem.... i also got a bigger hose for the fuel.... got a lot of rust powder out of the filter in the petcock valve as well...... arg it never ends

Corvairkid 07-05-2013 08:46 PM

plenty of venting with the gas cap open....

Welcome; we are glad you joined us. :hi:

Do you live in the United States? Can you post a photograph of your CDI unit? Does the CDI unit have any writing on it?
