Check out the CSC blog. We now get a 2 year parts warranty! This thing just keeps getting better all the time. Also the bikes have been released for limited road testing by the powers that be.

What's that? We get a service manual as well. Hope it's in English.

This appeared right after an inquiry I made to Joe through the ADV site. I bet I'm not the only one with apprehension about support. This offer makes me feel better about a potential purchase.

As regards Zuo Zonshen, he reminds me very much of Ichiro Honda. They have similar vision and management style. Read up on Ichiro. He was ahead of his time. People scoffed at "Jap Crap" fifty years ago. Now Japanese products are the standard for quality in more markets than I could name here.

Yes, I saw that on the CSC blog earlier this afternoon. :) The first year of the warranty includes parts and labor. The warranty was extended a second year for parts. I quote from the blog.

We’re extending the Cyclone warranty to 2 years. This is a quality motorcycle with a warranty to back it up. The first year will be parts and labor; the second year will be parts only. You tell us what parts you need, and we’ll shoot them out to you.

This system is ideal for me, since I much prefer to do all of my own maintenance and repairs. :) However, if an owner doesn't want to do his own repairs during the first year of the warranty, he is still covered. I quote from the blog.

We realize there may still be folks who absolutely don’t want to work on their bikes. We’re betting that won’t happen too often. But if you’re in that category, fear not. We’ll find an independent shop in your area and arrange whatever maintenance your bike needs directly with them.

I hope Joe posts some photos after he gets back from his test ride. :)

CSC told me they are working with Zongshen to convert the 'Chinglish' of the RX3 Service Manual to readable English. :) Getting a free service manual with the motorcycle is a definite additional bonus.

I quote from the blog.

We’ll post detailed maintenance tutorials online. These will include oil changes, valve adjustments, chain adjustments, changing the fork oil, suspension adjustments, lubricating the chain, adjusting the rear wheel for proper chain tension, adjusting the clutch, removing and reinstalling the wheels, changing tires, changing the air filter, using the electronic diagnostic system, and more.

For any work requiring the Zongshen diagnostic test devices (needed for seldom-required adjustments to the fuel injection system or for evaluating the electronics), at your discretion we’ll either sell the electronic diagnostic equipment to you, or we’ll Fedex one to you on a low-cost rental basis.

By nature, most China Riders are frugal, and we are looking to receive the most value for our dollars. Almost invariably, this means we intend to do our all of our own repairs and maintenance; we merely want to be assured we will have access to parts and technical support. ;)

Joe Berk has informed me CSC will definitely sell an optional, 17-inch rear wheel. The final price has not yet been determined by the 'bean counters,' but it will be somewhere between $250 to $260. ;)

Joe Berk posted some photographs from his test ride on the CSC blog. Here's a nice view from the cockpit of the RX3. :)

I found a similar bike DINAMO Scorpion 250. This bike is more like lifan than zongshen bikes. Rear tire size 18" and front 19". There many differences between these bikes but still scorpion looks better than old lifan. The scorpion is sold here in Mexico for $2,250.

That's an interesting motorcycle, Hector. :)

I see Zongshen Peru is selling the RX3, as well as several other Zongshen motorcycles.

I was pleased to discover Zongshen has increased the engine displacement of the ZS150GY-10 to 200cc, and has released the ZS200GY-10.

Zongshen also has a ZX 450 Rally Raid motorcycle. I'm trying to learn more about this motorcycle. In the meanwhile, here is a short video. ;)

Zongshen entered a hybrid motorcycle, the ZX 450 Hybrid2, in the 2014, Sonagol Africa Eco Race. The Zongshen bike introduced heated water vapor into the fuel mixture. The Eco Race was completed in January, 2014. Here is a link to the race website. ;)

Willy Jobard, the winner of the 2011 SONANGOL AFRICA ECO RACE, rode the Zongshen, ZX 450 HYBRID2 in this year's race. I haven't yet discovered whether he finished the race, or not. ;)

I might be wrong, but I think Willy Jobard finished fifteen in the overall, general standings. At the following link, click the 'general' button under the 'moto' heading.

I believe Willy Jobard finished third in the special motorcycle classification. To see those standings, click the 'scratch' button under the 'moto' heading. ;)
