hey spud
do you happen to have pictures of the actual repacking process ? i read through your post about what you did but it was a little confusing with out pictures.. btw how much did the sound change ? i noticed you said it got quiter.. thats kind of a turn off for me loud n proud is my rule.. my mustang has the mufflers cut out of it gotta love a v8 mustang with no mufflers.. so id want my quad to be more on the louder side just not annoyingly loud |

dont know if this will be to small but i came across it when i was looking around for new fmf stickers for my muffler and repacking stuff.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamah...item45f4603450 |
thanks mizke but what sux it is ship only to usa i am in canada. i thing the size is good but i am looking more for a muffler with carbon fiber in it.
 UPDATE  i finally won my shocks on giobikes.com and i they are all ready shipped, i had pic express shipping so i should get my shock tomorrow or Friday just in time for the weekend to try them out . |
damn good deal, im jealous.. i want new shocks, but got to deal with this exhaust stuff.. i was up last looking at videos for the sound of it. but man people dont realize when you do exhaust sound videos.. the exhaust has 2 different sounds.. if you sit there and video it idling and revving it sounds one way, but the real sound is what it sounds like when there is a load placed on the motor.. wish more people woud include a video of them driving the atv then every one else would know what the exhaust truely sounds like..
i dont think you are going to find any cf name brand mufflers.. i know the auto parts stores around my town sell carbon fiber wrap.. dont think i a muffler would get hot enough to burn it off. but you could just wrap it your self.. |
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HMF-S...ts_Accessories
its a hmf powder coated black muffler.. it looks clean as hell.. but it is pricey.. but like i said above, you could buy some carbon fiber wrap and if you take your time you can wrap the muffler and have it look really good. esp round mufflers, they would be the easiest ones to wrap |
i want a Yoshimura here are 2 links and there are carbon fiber
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT or mabe this but it is not carbon fiber http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT and if i want fmf i found this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT tell me what u thing |
i like the looks of the fist 2, but the can it self seems to be on the short side.. might look a little odd..
this video is the fmf power core 4, i am getting the 2 stroke version of it so its called the power core 2.. but should sound something like this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bgVqh...eature=related |
well i had hoped to get my fmf pipe this weekend, but it seems the postal service is a tad bit retarded.. the pipe shipped out of mesa arizona, i checked the tracking number today since it was shipped yesterday.. they sent it to bell, ca and now its on its way to texas, wtf ? they sent it 447ish miles the wrong direction to a sorting facility just to turn around and send it back through arizona then to texas..

 Update
look what came in the mail yesterday http://a.imageshack.us/img828/1154/img0697k.th.jpg new gio air shock i was happy that the shipping was fast and how the shock look but i am a littel worried about them. as i was getting them ready to bring up north to install on my beast, i went to check the the air pressure one of the shock readed 0 psi and the other read 24 psi. so i remove the little valve and found that it was jammed, so i replaced and now it works, then on the second shock as i lowed the psi the SAME thing happened. i fix it and now bought shock are at 8 pis each. should i tell GIO that i got 2 defected shocks?? |
Don't worry about them not holding pressure, i've got 3 pairs of them and they all leak out eventually, but they still work 200% better than the stockers, when i'm at my buddies i usually use his nitrogen tank to fill them to 120psi, the best pair after 1.5 weeks will be back at 0.
|
but should i tell gio about it
|
yup

They may offer you another set for a small fee plus shipping, but really you'll probably end up with the same thing you already have, these shocks work soooooo much better than stock even without the adjustable compression dampning, so just bolt on them and run em'. |
i thought that shocks use fluid and not air. why do these ? are all atv shocks like these and use air

 update
just got back from up north, and i must say the gio air shock are a MUST the are so much better then stock. the sad news was i lost 2 bolt (tie-rod and rear swing arm) so it cut my ride short, most of the time i bring some spar bolts with me but i forgot this weekend. |
that sucks dude, sorry to hear it..
|
 update
i fix my 125cc carbon exhaust today, i drilled out my 3 rives and tap to fit 6x16 mm bolts so now, now let hope it last till fall. also i am working on a big video about my beast and me driving. |
 update
here is my new video tell me what u thing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QxiYqkod3S0 |

Yours sounds like mine did with the 125cc pipe I had on mine that blew apart in the middle of a ride. Your headlight seems quite bright. Did you put the ads along the bottom or does youtube do that automatically? |
Sweet! I liked the music and transitions! Looks like you are getting some good use out of your Beast. I really like those Zongshen engines, once you get em dialed in they purr. What did you use to make the clip, was it Windows Moviemaker?
Cheers, Stew |
sounds good but lets hear some runs in it. run it 1st through 4th, also becareful revving it nonstop like you did.. with out the revv limiter cuz the cdi removes that.. you could be spinning that top end faster then what it can handle..
like in a car when you want to run past the stock redline, you have to do strong valve's, stiffer valve springs, and some bottem end work does not hurt.. also unless you have a cam ment to run that high you are not making any power up there.. what happens is you get whats called valve float, and mister valve head ends up butting heads with the face of mister piston.. mister piston always wins but gets mangled and the valve head typically snapps |

yes i used windows movie maker Quote:

It sounds like it time to increase the main jet, flames out of the exhuast may look cool but that's a tell tale sign of being too lean, also when you rev it up you can hear it breaking up at higher rpms, it needs more fuel on the top end, other than that, cool vid and nice editing.

well whatever you do, dont touch the needle.. my issues after the exhaust in still was cuz i raised the needle up one notch.. now it runs perfect since putting it back to center.. but am going to throw in the 90 jet and see if i can squeeze a little more power out of it, cuz right now it has the 92.5 jet in it..
btw you should go ahead and jet it, cuz if you dont get the motor you wouldnt want this one to blow on you... also you might have to go rejet the new motor neways and your going to want good air fuel ratio's during the break in period.. |
like i said i am getting a new 30mm carb for my 250 motor so i dont want to rejet my carb.
|
well good deal then, im just going to keep my eyes open for a honda, yamaha 250 or 250r motor.. maybe even a 300ex or 400ex or 450r motor depending on price..
|
lol but i don't thing our frame will hold the power of a 450cc motor
|
idk about your frame, but mine is pretty strong, also the welds are good..
i found a trx450r motor on ebay for 1700.. its missing the clutch and stator, carb, exhuast.. and it looks clean as hell.. if i had the money to burn i would buy it.. |
