That cat's a keeper. I feel bad I had thought for you to leave him with friends in Georgia. :(

Buford is a great feline! :D I'm very glad he's making the trip to Kansas, and I'm sure your beautiful daughters are very glad as well. ;)

Spud :)

Weldangrind 04-30-2012 09:09 PM

Yeah, it seems like the best move. Buford will love his new surroundings.

FastDoc 05-01-2012 12:44 AM

Mostly he'll love his 'old' humans.

SpudRider 05-01-2012 12:48 AM

He'll also love the BBQ joint nearby. ;) A big kitty such as that needs his nourishment! 8O

Spud

katoranger 05-02-2012 10:43 AM

My coworkers were nice enough to cover my moving expenses.

Weldangrind 05-02-2012 10:56 AM

By giving you a box?

FastDoc 05-02-2012 11:18 AM

I have grown to detest cardboard boxes. A moving person's life is filled with them. Collecting the, taping them packing them moving them unpacking them, and disposing of them. I can hardly see a box nowadays without the urge to pick it up and put it somewhere...

katoranger 05-02-2012 11:58 AM

Yep. That box will contain 9 years of my life. Tomorrow is my last day.

FastDoc 05-02-2012 12:04 PM

Prayers sent.

It's do-able, and good things can come from it, but it's quite the PIA.

I'd have done better if not for my OCD.

SpudRider 05-02-2012 12:04 PM

Wow! Time certainly flys. ;) When are you making the actual move, Allen?

Spud :)

katoranger 05-02-2012 12:07 PM

I am leaving for Kansas on Monday morning.

FastDoc 05-02-2012 12:09 PM

Prayers for a safe and beneficial move for you and your entire family have been sent, Allen. :)

X2. :)

Spud :)

Weldangrind 05-02-2012 01:34 PM

X3. I hope that you and your family travel safely and enjoy your new home.

katoranger 05-04-2012 12:40 PM

Buford got his shots. They gave his some Xanax. Doc said 1/2 pill will calm him and a whole pill will put him out.

I plan to give it to him about 30 minutes prior to takeoff. Hoping he will sleep most of the ride.

FastDoc 05-04-2012 12:53 PM

Save the other half for yourself.

katoranger 05-04-2012 12:56 PM

They gave me 2 pills. Believe it or not, but Buford only weighed in at 11.7lbs.

FastDoc 05-04-2012 01:03 PM

Still a big cat.

My guys are what I would call average and run 8-9 lbs.

SpudRider 05-04-2012 09:45 PM

D-Day is rapidly approaching. This is your last weekend in Georgia. 8O

Spud :)

katoranger 05-05-2012 09:23 AM

I have my trailer mostly loaded. Still need to add a few things that the movers won't take. Then wrap it with a tarp.

I have my bike and the welder in the van.

Weldangrind 05-05-2012 12:07 PM

Ah, the important things. Good thinking. :D

katoranger 05-05-2012 01:30 PM

I also packed the air compressor and grinder. The trailer is all loaded and tarped. Still have to fill the van up. Got the litter box ready.

Finished cleaning out my shed. 95% of the trash is out. Some of it has been in there since I built it.

SpudRider 05-05-2012 03:33 PM

I hate moving! Even moving across town is a major hassle. Moving across country is even worse! :( D-Day is fast approaching; thanks for the update, Allen. :)

Spud :)

katoranger 05-05-2012 03:43 PM

The good is that it has forced me to get rid of alot of stuff. Some of it I would have liked to kept.

We also will experience alot of new things.

SpudRider 05-05-2012 04:23 PM

I'm sure the move is a good think, Allen. :D Quite frankly, I'm also glad you are moving closer to Spudland. ;)

Spud :D

katoranger 05-05-2012 04:38 PM

I have never been to the NW part of the US. Goal is to visit all the states. Kansas puts me within driving range of a few states still on the list.

My wife has never really been west. We may have to drive out to see you. I can leave them at the mall while we go for a ride.

SpudRider 05-05-2012 04:45 PM

That's a wonderful idea! :D

Spud :)

Weldangrind 05-06-2012 02:25 AM

You're gonna love the Western States, Kato. I can't wait to hear your Wife's impressions of Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Lewis and Clark cavern, Craters of the Moon National Park, etc etc. We've done all of those things (and more) as road trips, and we've built some terrific memories.

FastDoc 05-06-2012 11:25 AM

Kato, I compliment you on your consistant positive attitude.

I'd give you an 'A' on your move mindset.

I'd give myself a 'C', maybe a 'C-'

You will do great. God will you this as a blessing for you, your family, and ALSO your new neighbors. You will be a blessing to all those you encounter at your new home.

May He do the same with all of us. :D

By the way, no one ever said, "Go East young man." :P

Since I've lived out here if I go east of the Rockies I get hives. .

Weldangrind 05-06-2012 01:09 PM

X2! It's the same thing in Canada. No disrespect to my brothers on the other side of the Rockies, but I love it here. No more frozen tundra for me.

katoranger 05-06-2012 10:08 PM

I will try to keep you all posted of my progress tomorrow. Maybe I can text Doc with updates.

Ouch! Frozen tunda?!!! 8O Only a fellow Canadian could get away with that remark!

Spud

FastDoc has given his approval. :) Please do keep us posted of your progress, Allen. I will also remember you and your family in my prayers. :)

Watch out Kansas felines! Here comes Buford!

Spud :)

Weldangrind 05-07-2012 01:39 AM

I'll be thinking about you on Monday, Allen. I hope you have a terrific journey. :D

FastDoc 05-07-2012 12:19 PM

I just received a text from Kato this morning. He and Buford are by Memphis and they are both doing very well.

SpudRider 05-07-2012 02:33 PM

Wow! They are making good time! :D Thanks for the update, Brother Bill! I am sending a prayer skyward for Allen's safety right after I finish typing this message. ;)

I wonder if Buford is sharing driving duties?

Spud

FastDoc 05-07-2012 02:40 PM

I believe that has been delegated to Allen.

Buford does get out to guide when backing the trailer however.
