Can't wait to see the finished product with all those junkyard parts.
I drove all the way to Nashville with those things. One big day of ebay/craigslist collecting. Allen |
It will be a while KATO before these are done, like around next spring  hopefully sooner but I wouldnt hold my breath.
Anyway I have been cutting and grinding and am very close to welding up the engine mount for it. Pretty much made the mount saturday. http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...DSCF0017-2.jpg Its all just loose right now but once its all welded it should work just fine. http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...DSCF0016-1.jpg A shot of the chain alignment (I hope its set right) http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...DSCF0018-2.jpg Here is a picture of the top section. I used tubing and will weld it all together once I have it set and I may add a couple of cross braces as well so when I tighten the original engine bolts down they have something firm to compress against. http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...DSCF0003-7.jpg This is the lower section and it will be welded to the upper section making an L-shaped piece. http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...DSCF0012-6.jpg This is just a shot of how I was lining things up and drilling the holes the same but I messed up and needed to bend a piece and do some corrective filing. http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...DSCF0005-7.jpg |
More work done on it......hello......anyone out there .............anyone :(
So here is the bracket all finished and stuffed into the frame. (I think-hope) http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...DSCF0007-4.jpg Here it is on the engine and it has to be mounted on the engine first then it goes to the frame. http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...DSCF0009-3.jpg Here it is supporting the engine and solid as a rock. http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...DSCF0012-7.jpg Slobber welds for everyone. I have enough slobber welds on that one piece for everyone. I think I will put a dual exhaust on it, I seen one for sale that goes to the little atv's. Set it up to be right under the bike crossing over in front of the center stand maybe. |
Your weldings getting better, Don't look like popcorn anymore
Srry JK Heck the site was down I just noticed today it was working, Some catching up to do...Heck thats half the battle You can start powdercoatng the frame now :D |
I had to be careful when doing the welds on that engine mount as the tube can be burnt through very easily.
I wish I could powder coat it but I'll just shoot some paint on it and call it good. But there is a small problem I found when taking it apart the rear upper shock mount threads are messed up so I'll have to fix that before I can paint it. The shock mount is welded into the frame and looks to be a custom bolt/threaded rod that runs from one side to the other and not really replaceable. I have a plan and hope to get it fixed this week. |
It will look good, The mount looks nice and nobody will be able to tell once it's all painted.....I can't remember if You decided on a color yet or not.
|
I heard You got more parts, Updates man updates :D
|
Not much to update right now, last weekend I repaired the left rear upper shock stud and started stripping the paint off.
Didnt do much to it this weekend except sand on it a bit more. We are planning to move (I hope) and have been messing around more with that than anything even though we are just in a waiting mode right now until closing. I doubt I'll get it rolling this summer with the new/old house because once we have that we will be very very busy making it a home. http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...DSCF0004-7.jpg http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...DSCF0005-8.jpg I JB welded that stud in there, I hope it will work. http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...DSCF0007-5.jpg The thing is pretty rusty but I think I can save it and If not I have the parts from kato as a backup (wildthing) project. |
Cool, Good luck with the house :D
|
This could get interesting. I think I shipped you about a ct90 and half now.

The house is a huge project in itself and needs a lot of work.
(gut the bathroom-new tub+surround, toilet, walls, flooring, new vanity counter top) All new plumbing which I'll have to do in a crawl space YIKES! Hoping the hardwood floors are good enough to just resurface. I'll have to line the crawl space with plastic and insulate it and maybe put in some drain tile and a sump and dehumidifier. Of course the standard clean and paint every room. And a ton of other small but needed repairs. But the yard is bigger than we have now and it has a two car garage that I hope to keep uncluttered. (yeah right) Oh I'll be using a lot of those parts you sent me KATO on the CT90, S90 and then a follow up project at a much later date. The follow up project will have a considerable amount of frame frabricating done to it to the point of me calling it a custom homemade bike but thats a long way off. |
I can send you a legal GA bill of sale for that frame if needed. They didn't issue titles in GA for bikes of the vintage.
Allen |
If you want to go ahead it might make it easier for me but I'm not real worried about it.
|
I will still be around. It is GA form T-7. Filled out alot of them.
