That's GREAT news CC! I was hoping something would come of this for you. I'm glad SSR stepped up to the plate for you. I've always been leery of their customer service and support. It's the main reason I chose the TT250 for Mrs. 2LZ over the XF250 a few years ago even tho I knew the XF was the more modern bike, regarding build quality.
Let us know when the new Benelli arrives!

They sent this picture today. It goes out for paint tomorrow.

got my bike back a couple weeks ago. Modified frame is perfect. The taillight, rear fender, and turnsignals don't vibrate at all anymore, where before they would vibrate quite a bit just by revving the engine. The dealership didn't tighten the steering head bearings enough, and they routed the wiring harness incorrectly... but the bike still runs great and everything works, so I can't really complain too much. I've got my baby back, and I'm riding the balls off of it again.

Does anyone know how to edjust the fuel map on the Delphi MT-05 ECU that comes in the Buccaneer?

Here's the bike all back together after the frame replacement, a wash, new Continental Escape tires, and... err, a lost license plate.

Edit - not sure why my image isn't uploading. So here's some pics linked from another forum.

Bike looks great. Yeah, quadz is still trying to get the picture issue straighten out. For the time being you will have to reduce the image size to 97kb or smaller to upload.

Same Q for me. This MT-05 ECU was also used in the early 2000s Harley Davidson... may a point to start research.

I've got Dobeck making and loading a custom program onto the EJK (Electronic jet kit) I purchased. We will see if that makes a difference.

The harley program worked for low and mid range, but it wouldn't add fuel above about 7000rpm. And since the Buccaneer makes all its power at 8000 rpm, that's a problem. The jump between settings was also too large. It had 0 to 9 in half intervals, and the difference between 0 and 0.5 was from lean to super rich.

Hopefully the new program will work at high rpms, and they'll start selling an EJK specifically for the Buccaneer.

It'd also be great if they'd make one for the CSC RX3, since there's that lovely big bore kit... and it also uses the same Delphi ECU.

I would look for a coder who is familiar with the ECU and adjust the fuel map directly instead of using additional devices manipulating/faking input signals.

Gear position sensor lost neutral the other day, pulled it off and part of the plastic around the contacts is cracked. On the SSR microfiche it shows what looks like a screw-in neutral sensor and a gasket. It's an identical picture to the neutral switch for the Yamaha XV250 motor.

The Buccaneer also has an internal part with a contact on it. This is inside the motor, but can come out with a single allen bolt. This part is of course not on the microfiche from SSR. Anybody have a part number for either of these?

Charles.

ChopperCharles 06-29-2021 07:41 PM

Okay, got the part number for the sensor itself. Which is the rubber part with o-ring and wires. That's part # 3101014. However, this is the part I need a number for:

SSR didn't have a listing for the part for the Buccaneer from Italjet. However, they found a similar part from a different SSR bike and it measures correctly. So they're sending me that. If the pin and contact are in the right place I'll post the part number here in case anyone else needs it.

Could be a very interesing approach to remap MT-05 ECU. I found https://oldskulltuning.com/delphi-mt...atv-and-bikes/

Offering xdf files for the MT-05 ECU and the Lifan LJ250 is a supported bike. You read out the ECU file, send it to them, pay 30 EUR (approx 25 USD) and receive a remapped file to be loaded to the ECU.

Charles for spare parts of the SSR you can check the british lexmoto for the Lj250-3V (Vendetta) microfiche.

Bike has been jumping out of gear a bit lately. Engine is running strong, sad to see the transmission is not holding up long-term. But then, I am a fatass. Equivalent to riding 2-up everywhere...

Charles.

ChopperCharles 08-26-2021 03:18 PM

OKG, I'm gonna be honest here, there's no future with ECU remapping of this bike. There are no people available to help if things go south. I can't even get someone to help me diagnose my RX3, which is a FAR more popular bike.

Charles.
