I'll most likely end up getting the timing key and wheel puller to get 'er in.

My thoughts exactly about the sensor mod; especially if it decides to loosen up! Nothing a little Loctite could fix - but the key would be easier! Looked up how to do it - pretty simple looking actually too.

Speaking of stickers - someone posted about some China Riders stickers a while back.... I WANT SOME, but don't remember who it was posting about it! I'd slap about 50 or so on my bike if I could get them lol

On the hunt for a larger gas tank btw - have seen some (I think..) 5gal ones on the Orion bikes; just wondering if hangs the same as on the X-Pro. Which, there's only ONE bolt in the center holding the tank on the bike, then a slide peg deal on either side. This little almost 2 gallon tank has me paranoid I'm going to be stranded out in the woods somewhere.. Have ran out on the road once - reserve didn't do jack. Thankfully I was right across the street from a gas station. But, yeah that reserve didn't seem to have an affect on anything. I think it just restricts the flow more than in the 'full on' position.. I do take the spare gas cylinder if I go out far-ish. I think it's a 1.5L tank, can't remember; haven't had to actually use it yet. Btw that tube I have for storage doesn't have any padding on the inside, it IS air tight though so no leaks. But, if anyone does do the storage tube and gas cylinder - I'd suggest a t-shirt wrapped around the cylinder... I sacrificed mine for the sake of sanity lol I can't take rattling and loose stuff flapping around during the ride. I'll definitely post up what I find on the bigger tanks too, I'm sure you'd probably want one as well! I'm wanting to say I can replace the cap with one that has a little tank gauge on it.. still, going to do some research on all that!

Yeap.. i also almost ran out of gas the other day.. prob around the 160 mark and filled 1.9 gal, damn on the teetering edge of empty

I'm testing out with the petcock in the opposite position, curved edge facing down and handle facing up to see if its just oriented wrong. The petcock actually has a small arrow pointing in the direction of the edge of the handle, so, we will see. i'll report back if it works and it will be another quirk to notate..

With regard to the larger tank, check out this thread for the possible:

PSA: confirmed today the correct position of the petcock for normal use as well as reserve. It seems this petcock is the opposite of most and the arrow is pointing in the direction of the handle and this is the indicator for position - UP: Normal Down: Reserve
The bike ran 1.7 gallons in the normal position which should leave .2 or so in reserve, good for at least 20 miles
The attached pic is the normal position

How about an update? Any new mods? Been riding or put up for winter?

tknj99 11-20-2021 09:00 PM

I've been riding here and there.. The only recent mod was that I swapped out the PZ30 for a new VM26 and installed an extended A/F screw.. I would have stuck with the PZ30 except that while riding one day all of a sudden she wanted to stall anytime I let off the throttle.. Turned out that the a/f screw fell out lol. Guess I had backed it out too far or perhaps forgot to install the spring when I modded that PZ30..
Anyway, she's running great with the new carb and I have the 20 pilot that it came with, needle at 2nd position from bottom (1 step down from middle) and replaced the main with a 120.. I've got close to 400 miles now and soon to change oil again at 500 and be done with break-in.. Then I'll see how high I can wind her out and what speed I can comfortably cruise at on the 55mph roads.

Glad to hear your carb issues are solved and thanks for the jetting info. IMO if you're turning the a/f screw farther than 3 full turns you need a larger pilot jet. Another tip is to remove the a/f spring under the screw and stretch the spring a little to provide more tension on the screw as you properly adjust to find idle and response setting. And you won't lose the a/f screw when tuning.

Hi everyone I am new to this site and ended up here because I am very interested in the X-Pro Titan DLX 250 for my first bike. Before I order I would like to have all my mods ordered so I can put it all together at once. This thread seems to have all the titan experts on it so I was wondering if I could get some help.

Here are a few questions:
I live in Colorado and intend on riding at higher elevations (6000'-9000'), would a Nibbi performance PE30 carb fit in the bike and is it the correct size? also what are your jet kit recommendations.

Also what other Mods should I plan on ordering initially?

Thanks for all the help.

Lee

tknj99 12-09-2021 01:16 PM

Welcome to the club! You made a great choice and am sure will love the bike, its an absolute steal at the current price (bought mine from PowersportsMax) and will do everything you ask of it..
With regard to your questions.. the PE30 may be overkill for a stock bike. I have the PE30 on my Brozz 250 but you can see in my signature that i've done several mods to it.. I can personally vouch for the VM26 to work very well as a replacement for the stock PZ30. I have it jetted currently with original pilot, needle at the second position up from bottom and a 120 main and am at 700 feet so this may not be the best jetting for you..
As far as mod list i would suggest these:

VM26 Carb:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Handguards
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DXVKMVJ...roduct_details

Rev Box CDI (eliminates rev limit and slightly advances timing)
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Z8R92YT...roduct_details

Spoke wrench
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NOTMK5M...roduct_details

NGK Iridium Plug
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000CSGWZC...roduct_details

Hope this helps and be sure to post up a new thread once you get it.. the more info we share the better

Awesome thank you for all the help. I will definitely keep you informed on how the process goes.

Is there a downside with running that bigger carb? I like the look of it and the adjustments look easier to make. Also it may give me more running room if I decide to make more mods in the future?

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...2P82LHDI&psc=1

If there is a downside I definitely will go with the VM26. Did you have to do anything special to fit it?

On a stock engine, the PE28 will be a better match. Unless you plan on porting the head for more flow, the PE30 will be harder to tune due to lack of air flow.

Lee1991 12-09-2021 02:02 PM

mmmm ok so my debacle worsens. ok so the PE28 from nibbi is below;

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0..._1?smid=&psc=1

Will I see any performance benefit if I go with the Nibbi performance PE28 vs any of the other PE28 vs the VM26?

So here are my options so far;
VM26
Nibbi performance PE30
Nibbi performance PE28

Plump Kibbles 12-09-2021 02:16 PM

I uh.. can't seem to find an adapter for those carbs on this bike. The angle of the carb is the opposite from the Hawk engines. If you're sitting on the bike, the carb sits off to the right and at a strange angle.. But, maybe something has come out since then - I couldn't find anything that would allow this carb to fit though; space issues... I'm currently running the Mikuni clone 30mm with a 115 main jet, 42 slow with a catless pipe. Definite boost in power through the RPMs. I'm happy with it now - it's not sputtering or jerking on hard acceleration anymore :lmao:

I may look in to this during the winter while it's just sitting.. I abandoned that idea when I couldn't find the manifold adapter. Why isn't there a bolt-on pumper carb?? Or, is there and I just don't know?

The PE28 will perform better. The PE28 is a smooth bore carb that is a full 28mm and not tapered like the VM26 and No choke valve obstructing the air flow. It will be more responsive.

Lee1991 12-09-2021 02:40 PM

Ok so if the Nibbi PE28 wont fit (Very unfortunate) should I go with the VM26 or the Mikuni clone 30mm? or will they pretty much do the same thing performance wise? are either of them easier to adjust?

do you have a link to the Mikuni clone 30mm you bought PK?

VM26 = Mikuni Clone 30mm :) The link i posted earlier is the same carb that SeƱor Plump employs

Lee1991 12-09-2021 02:58 PM

ohhh ok that makes that decision way easier. Thank you all for your help. I'm very new to all of this and I cant tell you how many headaches you are saving me.

My pleasure.. we all help each other, this forum is an amazing resource and with these China Bikes, the more we share and contribute to the forum the better as its a niche market

If it sits off to the right when you are sitting on it then that is at least similar to the HAWK. The HAWK angles to the right around the frame and has a specific up and down orientation. Post up some pictures of it, especially directly overhead and in relation to the frame. The closest spigot intake to a HAWK intake is the Nibbi CQR intake on Amazon but I found it does not work on my HAWK.

tknj99 12-09-2021 04:17 PM

The carb turns inward towards the clutch side at a fairly sharp angle and is tucked in tight against the airbox. If you were to ditch the airbox and go with a pod then one of the angled adapters might work.. but in my opinion, its not worth ditching the stock airbox as it protects the foam filter very well.
If you zoom on the attached pic you can see better

China Rider 27 12-09-2021 05:43 PM

I can't zoom in on that pix, so it is hard to tell. It looks like it comes back through the frame. What intake did you put on the Brozz?

China Rider 27 12-09-2021 05:46 PM

OK I downloaded it but when zoomed the quality is pretty poor. He said it turned out to the right but looks to me like when you are sitting on it it turns out to the left which all different than a HAWK.

Well, it would turn to the right if your looking at the bike from the brake side.
On the Brozz, i have a Nibbi pod filter connected using a Nibbi manifold:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Filter:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Lee1991 12-09-2021 11:11 PM

So if I did buy that pe28 and the other two nibbi attachments and it fits ,even if it is a slight pain, would I see a small performance boost compared to just running a vm26? Theoretically? ha

tknj99 12-10-2021 07:28 AM

I'd imagine a very minimal gain.. The biggest gains you will get are by
1. removing the cat in the exhaust (cut/remove/weld - free/minimal cost) or replacing the header pipe altogether (can be found on Orion site): https://www.orionpowersports.com/sta...-249cc-engine/

2. adding a 4 degree timing key (Joe Henner sells them)
3. port/polish the head

Lee1991 12-10-2021 11:13 AM

ok sounds good. i have added all that stuff to my various carts.

KP mentioned a boost bottle in a post in this thread a bit ago.... what is that and what are the benefits?

thanks for helping a newbie

HEADL355 NINJA 12-14-2021 01:51 AM

Hello, I just got my DB-X34 today excited. For mods to increase the hp I'm going to remove the cat. Not sure of I really want to do the 4 degree timing not sure if I need it for wat I'm using it for. I plan to take it on trails and dunes mostly. Any suggestions other than those?

Congratulations on your new purchase. There is a ton of information here just by re-reading the first few pages. For example, tknj99 talks about a CDI unit to install instead of the offset key and carb jetting to name a couple. I'd also recommend the disassembly and lubrication suggestions on other links. Good luck, let us know how you and your bike work out.

Great thread and details/info on the XPro Titan! Thanks everyone and especially tknj99 and Plump K .

Just got one delivered and doing the assembly now, this thread has helped a lot. Look forward to learning more and getting some time on it :-).

Thanks again, Howard in NC

Overall, she is performing great. The 30+ pounds of weight loss compared to the Brozz makes itself easily known. On the dirt trail there is a very steep and long down hill that i went on and if it weren't for the shipping oil that made its way to the rear brake, it was fine.. going up the hill was very fun, trucked up in first gear very easily with plenty of power on tap. As im limiting the revs to 6k at this time, there will be more to be had once i pass the 500mi mark and start opening her up.
With regards to the carb, I will probably swap to the VM26 and run a 100 main (i believe stock is 95) and center the clip on the needle.
You can mod the stock carb easily by cutting grooves into the bolt heads and change the main but the needle wont be adjustable (assuming same carb as the Brozz PZ30)
Also, to update regarding the damages, PSM responded back and claim that they dont have replacement parts on hand and offered $30 and i accepted.

Your complete write up is useful. THANKS!

The XPro does seem to be a good choice right now, especially for that engine.
A full size 21" front wheel is nice. My Bashan Storm has a 19" front wheel, which limits tire choices a bit, and it won't clear larger objects as easily as your XPro. The Storm does have a plush seat though!

Your carb plans sound perfect for my Storm as well. I live below 1000 feet and the jetting and needle height settings you describe are a good place to start. I will carve out the converter and modify the airbox to increase flow too. That and the carb swap may be sufficient to add 4-5hp without making it loud.

Have fun!

tknj99 01-04-2022 12:46 PM

Update: did the 500 mile oil change and now able to wind her out.. it seems that top speed (for my 185 weight) around 63 or so mph with 60mph being comfortable. This translates to around 55mph with the stock gearing which is fine for me as i like its behavior off-road as is.
Also with regard to the VM26, i just ordered a Mikuni jet kit as i want to replace the 20 pilot it came with and install a 25 pilot as i feel a hesitation at slightest of throttle inputs. I may also back the 120 main down to a 115 as it bogged a bit during top speed when twisting out the throttle.

Is there any cheaper option for a stainless header for the 223 ohc motor? I saw something on aliexpress but it has that "powerbomb" thing and i guess there is the catalityc filter in it..correct?

Unfortunately none of the Ebay/Amazon pipes that work for the Brozz/Hawk/TBR CG engine will work on the Titan with the 229cc CB engine.
The options are:
1. cut/remove/weld stock pipe to remove cat
2. buy this header off Orion: https://www.orionpowersports.com/sta...-223cc-engine/

I received my titan 250 today and have some quick questions for you all. First the key was broken off in the ignition so they are sending me a new key and ignition. Has anyone ordered from powersports max and had issues like this? Do they resolve the issues quickly?
Second powersports max lists the titan250 model as the DB-X34 but all my paperwork that came with my bike lists the model as the DB88? anyone else have this issue?

thanks for the help,

A DB88 would be a 110cc Apollo dirt bike.

Lee1991 01-19-2022 04:23 PM

Thats my worry exactly. The paper work says DB88 250. The bike looks correct though. Just worried they screwed something up. Is there a engine size stamp anywhere on these bikes?

JerryHawk250 01-19-2022 04:41 PM

More than likely it's a misprint. The two bikes are completely different in size. The DB88 will have smaller 12"/14' wheels with a horizontal single cylinder. If your bike looks like the one on there website, then you have the right bike. Post a picture of the bike.

Lee1991 01-19-2022 04:54 PM

Ok will do hear shortly. Anyone also change out the ignition switch on their bike? wondering how much of a pain it will be.
