The Shorai LFX19A4-BS12 lithium iron battery is a good fit for the RX3 battery box. The length and width fit exactly and it comes with foam spacers to prevent vertical movement. It's a 19 amp-hour battery with 285 CCA.

The shifter lever from a KLX250 is almost an exact fit. You can find them with a folding tip for under $30.

The XR650 shift lever also fits, but FYI the aftermarket ones are a bit longer ... better for bigger feet/boots.

The front sprocket from a DR250/350 will fit. It comes in 13T, 14T and 15T.

Thanks Joel! Is that a true fit, or just *good enough* fit?

I don't know for sure ... I haven't tried it myself. But I saw it in a Facebook comment, so it must be true!

Hi Everyone, Greetings from Colombia, sorry for my bad English, I would like to ask, what are the dimensions of the shock of the RX3, I'm thinking of modifying the suspension of this bike, I appreciate your response. Thank you.

I just ordered a front sprocket for a 90-98 DR350, I'll let you know if it works when it gets here.

I finally got around to installing the 1995 DR350 Front Sprocket on my RX3, fit perfect, only difference is there is no hole for the "keeper" to lock into, I installed it with some locktite, hopefully it'll hold.
I didn't think I have a drill bit that would drill thru the hardened steel of the sprocket.

I live in China and could buy n sell etc
Be a cool little sideline to what I do bike wise etc.

Back Sprocket

Hi all

I bought back brake pads for my 2015 RX3 from the local Honda dealer, they're from one of their offroad bikes, Nissin I think.

What I wanted to ask was which back sprockets have the same Pitch circle diameter and bolt centers?

I'd like to experiment with smaller rear sprockets to see how high I can gear the bike up.

My bike will rev right up to redline in top and feels like it would keep accelerating if I let it, so my plan is higher gearing. Although we're about 35 km inland we're still pretty much at sea level and as long as I don't start packing on the pork the engine seems strong enough.

Anyone tried altering the back sprocket?

I seem to recall an old post by Spudrider that said that the JTR811 was compatible. He used a 46 tooth version, but there are other sizes:
http://www.jtsprockets.com/catalogue/sprocket/JTR811/
I don't know how hard to get those are or if anyone can verify this information, though.

Thanks Mr Google says this is a standard Suzuki on/off road bike sprocket. We have a Suzuki shop in town:clap:

What front sprocket do you have 13T 14T 15T?

NzBrakelathes 05-16-2019 04:16 AM

RX3 stuff is pretty easy to get etc.

The RX3 rear sprocket has an odd bolt pattern diameter. I remember trying to install a rear sprocket from one of the Japanese bikes "it's supposed to fit" only to find that the bolt holes were off by about 1-2mm. Spud discovered this too and had to drill out the rear sprocket holes. CSC sells a variety of rear sprockets that will fit and they are not horribly expensive.

Control levers

After an unfortunate "dropped bike" I have discovered that the control levers, specifically the front brake, is an exact swap with a Suzuki GN125. Great news as this bike is sold worldwide (Well New Zealand wide anyway) Total cost of a set of new levers NZ$ 16.99 + 5.00 postage.

Another discovery the mirrors have a 10mm thread. Anyone need a set of mirrors with and 8mm thread?

Very different and has tire pressure mon etc
On RX4 needs full new loom etc
These are common high grade version in china like the wheels or DOHC RX3 engine etc
USA version is kinda more basic

I have a cross-reference for the power connector on the left side of the dashboard, used for the OEM lighter/power socket!

PB045-02027 (female, this is the connector on the harness) and PB055-02840 (male, this is the connector that plugs into the harness).

You can buy them here:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08918WBW4/
and
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4001030259359.html

Now you can easily add power to a handlebar accessory without wiring all the way back to the under-seat connectors, and without having to switch it from the right handlebar switch.

If you want to run a phone charger and also have the OEM power accessory, you can buy connectors to make a splitter, keeping all wiring harnesses intact. (Which is always preferred to butchering a harness)

This appears to be the speedometer connector:

Male: FW-C-3M-B
Female: FW-C-3F-B

Available here: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000666843492.html
And here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079LH1H1L

A pair of these would make one of the speedo healer installations quite easy, without needing to cut the harness of either piece. Also easily removable when you want to sell your RX3 and upgrade to an RX4 :)

I've got them on order and will confirm they're the correct part when they arrive... in a month...

Thanks for the research and links. Let's see just how long it takes to get the parts.

ChopperCharles 12-04-2020 10:15 PM

The connectors came in from Aliexpress today. They were the correct connectors, and I've already wired up my SpeedoDRD with the triangle connectors and attached it to my RX3. No cutting or splicing on the harness required. My crimper kinda sucks, so I crimped and soldered each connection. The connectors have rubber seals and are waterproof.

The power connector that's normally used for the 12V power receptacle also fits perfectly. I bought a set of both male and female connectors, so I can make an adapter if I ever decide to get the 12V and USB accessory outlets. I'll wire up my phone charger to one of those connectors tomorrow, which will free up one of the under-seat connectors.
