I added digital gauges on both Hawks and put a 45 tooth rear sprocket on mine. That puts me at a 17/45 combo and I can cruise easily at 55 all day and top out at 63ish. Now when I drop the remaining 40lbs (on me) I'm working on (started at 50), that might change a little. Other than that just rode and enjoyed this unusually warm February we're having here in NC.

Muffler for Q

I had on the FMF Turbine Core 2 for years. I like that unit on the CG motors. On Q though, the OHC (Suzuki) motor had a more "sharp" tone to it. I installed a dB Dawg and it helped, but I still wasn't totally happy with it.

I thought I'd give this unit a try. It's got an adjustable (drillable) baffle so I can do some tuning. It will also pass the Rangers coat hanger test.

One 1.25" to 1.5" exhaust adapter, a little Dremel action, a couple of clamps and viola! So far it sounds good. Not as shrill as the TC2. Deeper tone. I need to get it out and see how it breathes.

Yah... I know. That's because I rode down to a road by my house that was flooded, like so many here. This is one I ride all the time to get over to Fiddletown. Not just the tires but I had to clean out the inside of my fenders too! ;-)

Have you ever seen rain in california like this in your life that you remember 2lz?

hertz9753 02-22-2017 12:12 AM

2LZ lives on a volcano and that water is going down hill. You are looking at possible washouts and big holes in the road. It is also flooding were he lives and that changes everything on road and off.

It's not the same as riding in a competition or with friends when you have people that can help...

I'm not sure that I could see it yet, or remember seeing it, but yes, in the year I was born, 1938, It rained so much that the Los Angeles river left it's newly engineered watercourse, and went back into its original watercourse, destroying homes and roads on its way back to the way nature intended.....ARH

Oh yay.... Everyone makes a huge deal (especially now in our 24 hour news cycle) about this kind of thing.

Drought? Yes....and it's a normal weather cycle for here.....but we didn't just roll out of it in one year. like they may be reporting.
We have two different rain gauges, in two different spots on our property and we track it religiously. Plus, we don't count anything under 1/4" so our measurements are conservative.

In 2014/2015, we measures 30" (almost average for Volcano).
In 2015/2016, we measured 42".
This 2016/2017 season, we've already hit 58" with March and April yet to go.

Fact is CA gets its weather from 5 different directions and it cycles between wet and dry about every 7 or so years, at least in the 58 years I've lived here.

My friends have always razzed me about how I keep my things....but they've never balked at buying anything I've ever had for sale either. ;-)

totally agree. a 6 inch mud hole = half an hour of cleaning.

but it is still hard to resist peeling out in it, to see just how far you can throw it... i'm up to around 40 feet.
