The rest of it was just entertaining, but that bus was shocking!

SpudRider 01-31-2015 04:22 AM

I don't think I have ever seen such a large vehicle so completely out of control, sliding down the icy street. :wtf: I'm amazed the local transportation authority sent the bus out on its route under those conditions. :ohno:

Are you guys using BT headsets? I just purchased the Older Rider V5 not the 400 series

SpudRider 12-15-2015 12:55 PM

I don't own a bluetooth GPS receiver, or a bluetooth headset. However, I am interested in learning more regarding this topic. :)

What are the differences between the TomTom Rider V5, and the newest, Rider 400 GPS?

I'm using a Torq T23 helmet with a Blinc III BT headset with FM, but I don't own a GPS. Maps are always fully charged.;)

Spud, I know the new version has SD/Card slot, built in speakers, new design and most likely more powerful hardware. But the price of the older V5 model is what sold me. My wife has the TomTom 500 and it is way better than the last Nuvi I had. It seems to pick routes that I would use more so than the Garmin does. I also like just start typing address and it find the closet one to your location and the address is like (123 wood ave, conway, nh). My garmin was (NH, Conway, wood avd, 123) and not on one line but multiple screens.

I don't blame you for getting the V5 TomTom. It is a nice unit, and it costs much less than the TomTom 400. ;) However, I do believe the 400 model will import .gpx tracks, which is a nice feature. :)

The version 5 does as well. It converts them to Itn

That's great! Thanks for posting the good information.

So what are the main differences between the V5 and 400 models? :hmm: The V5 sounds great, and you got it for half the price of the 400. :)

All I have read on the differences, is what I posted earlier, most certainly there are improvements in hardware, software, and features but I do not know.

The SD card is a nice feature of the 400. :) Does the V5 model have external speakers, or does it lack speakers altogether, relying entirely on bluetooth?
