Well....dismantled the rear, it really wasn't too bad, until I lost 2 needle bearings in the lower shock mount. Spud covered this in his very well written tutorial, but I managed to mess it up anyway. Gerry at CSC was very cool, and parts are on the way! It wasn't too dry, but some new grease was in order. This endeavor leads me to 2 questions that i was not able to find in the Chinglish owners manual;
1. What is the torque spec for the rear swingarm bolt? 2. What size zerk/grease fitting goes on the 2016 rear swingarm? I thought they were universal, but that's a dumb presumption on my part. My grease gun fitting is too big. Thanks all! |
This thread has a lot of details on torque spec's including what you are looking for:
http://www.chinariders.net/showthrea...111#post198111 Lower Shock Linkage All bolts for the rocker/knuckle/arm: 38 foot-pounds All bolts for the link/dogbone: 38-foot pounds Upper Shock Bolt 33 foot-pounds |
Thanks fjrMartin, but the swingarm bolt isn't on there. I got the shock/knuckle linkages but not the swingarm...
I am talking about the big bolt that is hidden under the 2 plastic covers that runs through the swingarm itself. |
Per Gerry, swingarm bolt torque is 54 ft lbs. Also, my "drivers" side was pretty well greased, the passenger (brake side) was very dry. I shared this with him. I'm glad I didn't wait til 10k miles! Took me about 45 min total to drop the swingarm, clean, re grease and reinstall.
