The front should be the speedo drive on the right side and the spacer on the left side.
My rear will be different than yours. Allen |

OK, Today I put another 5 hours into the build and today notable progress was made. So far I have a total of 12 straight hours into it. Here is todays progress:
My neighbor helped me move it to a bike stand http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...d/DSC_0018.jpg Dust cove placement on rear http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...d/DSC_0020.jpg Rear spacer http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...d/DSC_0019.jpg Front wheel spacer location http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...d/DSC_0021.jpg Safety on stand http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...d/DSC_0022.jpg Front spacer in place http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...d/DSC_0023.jpg Front wheel is finally on http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...d/DSC_0024.jpg Front lock washer and lock tight http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...d/DSC_0026.jpg Finally a free standing LiFan!!!!! http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...d/DSC_0027.jpg Tomorrow I will drill holes in the front and rear shaft for cotter pins, place lock tight and lock washer on rear sproket, place cotter pin in break swing arm bolt, prep battery, change oil, remove gas tank and clean. Battery question
I added the enzyme solution to my battery. IS that self charging or do I need to hit it with a trickle charge?
I turn on my key and nothing happens... |
Re: Battery question

Worked like a champ. On the first try the bike started right up. I had started the bike previously using the kickstarter. |
I believe you need to charge it. Overnight with a trickle type would be best.

Sounds good the battery states 0.7A for 5-10 hours or 3.0A for 1hr...I am going for the one hour charge.
|
That is fine, but the slower rate charge is usually better. If you want to try it to see if it will start use the the fast charge time. You can put it on a slow rate charge later.

I just noticed that my charger is a 30amp 12v charger not a 3.0. I realized this after I let it charge the battery for about 15 minutes. I may need another battery and I will also get a different charger as well.
|
30amps will fry that battery. That would probably start the bike.
You need a 1 amp charger. Slower is better on small batteries. Allen |

take yer old into the motorcyle shop and tell em you need a new one. if it's anything like around here, you are going to have to exchange the old one or pay a core charge.

Day 4 of build
Ok I need to get a trickle charger and see if my battery still works after my amp error. Also I have some questions in the attached photo about identity of some connectors...Thanks in advance.

I will have to look on my bike, but I would match the color of the wires coming out of them.
Maybe someone else who has assembled a Gy5 lately can speak up. Allen |
I tried rolling down my drive today and pop starting. The bike choked and sputtered but no success. My battery is on a trickle charge and charged light is on but nothing from the battery. When I turn the ignition on it is dead, no lights etc. I will try to get a new battery tomorrow and see what happens.

Check the main fuse in the harness and make sure that it is good too.
Your battery may be fine. The fuse should be in the positive lead near the battery. If you have a voltmeter check the the battery and see what you get. If you don't have one spend the $20 at walmart and get a digital one. This probably won't be the last time you need it. Allen |
